Representatives of the Faculty of Archaeology, University of Warsaw (members of the Polish archaeological mission in Khirbet es-Sar) participated in the 16th International Conference on the History and Archaeology of Jordan, held at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Their presentations were as follows:
M. Burdajewicz – Khirbet as-Sar (Sara) – recent archaeological investigations (M. Omar Ibrahim and H. Lafi from Department of Antiquities),
J. Młynarczyk – Searching for the “lost” Hellenistic settlement at Khirbat as-Sar,
P. Makowski – Ceramic Traditions and Social Practices at Khirbat es-Sar: Uncovering a Middle Islamic Rural Settlement in the Balqa Region (P.Makowski).

Our archaeological mission from the Faculty of Archaeology UW, sponsored by NCN grant 2021/43/B/HS3/00813, has just completed its third season of fieldwork at the Khirbat es-Sar site (western suburbs of Amman) in Jordan. Before we update our project website (https://khirbet-sar.archeologia.uw.edu.pl), which will follow the submission of a report to the Jordanian Department of Antiquities (DoA), we would like to share photos that illustrate the local color and field challenges our team faced.
