For years, there was one thing about myself I wished I could change.
My height.
I thought life would be easier if I were taller.
People would take me more seriously.
Dating would be easier.
Bullies would leave me alone.
Doors would open.
Instead, I spent years fighting reality.
Then something strange happened.
The thing I hated most about myself became the thing that made me unique.
This theatre piece was born during a recent Grotowski intensive and combines Shakespeare, comedy, martial arts and some of the most personal stories I’ve ever shared on stage.
The funny thing?
I spent most of my life trying to become someone else.
Only to discover that the thing that made me different was the thing that made me memorable.
What’s something about yourself you used to hate... but wouldn’t change today?
