The Arabic for Non Natives Institute at An Najah National University introduces students to the Arabic language and Arab societies, with particular attention and emphasis on Palestine. Every program offered through the Arabic for Non Natives Program aims to help learners not only develop their Arabic language skills, but to understand every aspect of Arab heritage. Through our program, students wi
ll be equipped with the appropriate vocabulary and terminology to competently explore such subject matters as economics, politics, daily life and linguistics in Arabic. We also strive to cultivate a true passion in every Arabic learner to continue their studies outside the classroom and far beyond the end of the program. This intensive program enables learners to interact with Palestinian society, creating relationships with local students at An Najah National University as well as in the community of Nablus and beyond. The program director, Dr. Raed Mustafa Abdelrahim, has designed Arabic textbooks which are in use at top Arabic programs across the world. One primary method of Dr. Raed's teachings is to limit the learner's use of their native language as much as possible. Through this method of immersion, the program strives to enable students not only to learn Arabic but to think in it. Beyond the classroom study of Arabic, the student's experience and understanding of the West Bank are crucial to the success of this program. Our objective is not just to teach Arabic, but to also invite foreigners to experience Palestine's unique culture and society.
