The Tver State Medical University is a public educational institution and operates under supervision of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. The University has 6 faculties: Faculty of General Medicine, Faculty of Dental Medicine, Faculty of Pediatrics, Pharmaceutical Faculty, Faculty of Advanced Nursing Education, and Faculty of Postgraduate Studies. The Tver State Medical University

is officially recognized by the UN agencies for health care and education. Since 1962 the University has been training specialists for 57 countries of the world. The TverSMU is home for 4700 students, every third student of the University is a foreign national.
