The Doctoral Student Union (DSU) Malmö was founded in the summer of 2012 as the second student union in Sweden that solely represents postgraduate students. It is open to all postgraduate students affiliated with Malmö University (MU) and its five faculties: Education and Society (LS), Culture and Society (KS), Health and Society (HS), Technology and Society (TS) and Odontology (OD). The Union is
actively involved in monitoring and developing postgraduate education at Malmö University by working towards increased transparency, influence, and improved communication at postgraduate level. It aims at providing the necessary framework for an ongoing discussion that includes all postgraduate students at MU, while at the same time providing and collecting relevant information regarding postgraduate education. The Doctoral Student Union Malmö consists of a Union Board, as well as representatives at faculty level who are involved in the local research committees and faculty boards.
