You grew up knowing his name, perhaps reciting a prayer or singing a hymn devoted to him. More importantly, you would have been touched by teachers and principals who applied his education philosophy to their teaching and care towards you in school. He’s St Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort and if he were alive today, he would have been 350 years old.
Join us today virtually through the link below for the Dedication of the School Year Mass to commemorate our beloved founder’s 350th birth anniversary. We’ll also be praying for the seven institutions run by the St. Gabriel’s Foundation who are carrying on St Louis’ legacy in Singapore.
The mass brings together staff, students and parents from the seven Montfortian-Gabrielite Education Institutions (MGEI). They are – Montfort Junior School, Montfort Secondary School, St Gabriel’s Primary School, St Gabriel’s Secondary School, Assumption English School, Assumption English School, Assumption Pathway School and Boys’ Town.
Together, as one big MGEI family they continue to realise St Louis’ lifelong mission of looking after the last, lost and the least and empowering every child with the knowledge and skills to do well in the paths they choose, and contribute in the best way they can to society. We pray that they will keep up their good work and continue leveraging on each other’s strengths to offer meaningful programmes. This will help our students meet future challenges and excel in a volatile environment.
