South Sudanese comedian and content creator Mr. Yai Sabir has announced a major change to his upcoming comedy event scheduled for 25 April 2026. He has decided to allow free entry for everyone, a move many people are seeing as a message of unity and reconciliation.
The event was originally planned with different ticket categories. VIP tables were priced at 100 USD, while standard tickets were set at around 50,000 South Sudanese Pounds. In a recent live session on social media, the comedian reportedly canceled the tickets and said the event will now be open to the public without any charge.
The comedy show is set to take place at the Gold Orchids venue along Airport Road, near the Egyptian Clinic in Juba. The location is known as one of the more premium entertainment spaces in the city. Even with the costs already spent on venue booking, decoration, and promotion, Mr. Yai said his decision is based on a wider social message rather than profit.
Speaking to his audience, he addressed both Sudanese and South Sudanese communities in Arabic:
“My brothers in South Sudan and North Sudan… forgiveness and wellness are our path to love.”
He also shared hashtags that focused on peace, tolerance, and unity, including Forgiveness, Peace, Love, South Sudan, North Sudan, Tolerance, and Unity.
Many people have described the decision as a cultural and patriotic gesture aimed at bringing people together through entertainment without financial or social barriers. Fans and observers also see Mr. Yai as one of the leading figures in South Sudan’s modern comedy and digital content scene who is taking this kind of inclusive approach to a large public event.
The upcoming show is now expected to draw a much larger audience.
