IN MY OSCE EXAM I SAW A BRAIN 🧠 AND CALLED IT LIVER. 😭😂
If you've never written an OSCE, you'll think medical students are overreacting.
My dear...
OSCE is where intelligent people suddenly start behaving like they forgot primary school science. 😂💔.
The problem with OSCE isn't that you don't know the answer.
The problem is that you have 5 seconds, lecturers watching you, classmates breathing down your neck, and your brain suddenly decides to restart itself. 😭
You enter the hall full of confidence.
White coat neat. Stethoscope shining. Walking like a future consultant.
Inside your mind: "Today nobody can disgrace me."
OSCE: "Wonderful." 😂
I entered one station and saw an organ on the bench.
Without thinking twice, I confidently wrote:
LIVER.
The examiner looked at me.
Looked at the organ.
Looked back at me like he was reconsidering my admission. 😭
He asked, "Are you sure?"😂😂
That one question alone can scatter somebody's self-esteem.
I looked again.
Omo...
It was a BRAIN. 🧠💀
BRAIN!
How did I confuse a brain with a liver?
Till today, I don't know.
Maybe tension temporarily disconnected my medulla oblongata. 😂
But OSCE doesn't even give you time to recover emotionally.
Before you process your mistake, your classmates behind you are already shouting:
"Move na!"
"Time don go!"
"Shift!" 😭😂
The lecturers too are yelling:
"MOVE! MOVE! MOVE!".
At that point you're no longer identifying specimens.
You're surviving a stampede. 😂
You'll just be writing whatever your ancestors whisper into your ear.
Another station finished me completely.
There was a microscope.
All I needed was to identify the tissue.
I looked inside.
Saw beautiful seminiferous tubules.
It was obviously TE**IS.
Do you know what I wrote?
LUNGS. 🫁😭💀
LUNGS KE???
How did s***m production suddenly become respiration? 😂😂
The funniest part is that inside the exam hall, your brain fully supports the nonsense.
You'll even underline it boldly.
LUNGS..
With full confidence. 😭
It's only after leaving the station that your brain starts functioning again.
"Omooooo... that was te**is!"
Too late.
Your destiny has already moved to the next station. 😂💔
Another dangerous thing in OSCE is confidence.
You'll see a radius and proudly write ulna.
You'll see an ECG machine, get confused by the leads, and confidently write:
"WEIGHING BALANCE." 😭😂
The examiner will just stare at you quietly... and write something down.
At that point, you know your ancestors are watching the embarrassment live. 💀
And the timing...
The bell keeps ringing like Judgment Day.
"YOU HAVE 10 SECONDS LEFT!"
Ten seconds left?
Sir, I haven't even understood the question emotionally. 😭
Meanwhile, your classmates are moving from one station to another like Formula 1 drivers.
One push from behind and your handwriting changes from medicine to ancient symbols. 😂
After the exam, everyone gathers outside pretending to be okay.
One person says:
"OSCE was simple."
Simple???
Brother, you called the pancreas "thyroid" 15 minutes ago. 😭😂
That day I realized something:
OSCE doesn't test only knowledge.
It tests your memory, your speed, your emotional stability, your blood pressure, and your relationship with God. 😂💔
To every medical student who has survived—or is about to face—OSCE: may your brain remember what your eyes are seeing. Amen! 😂🩺
