Remediation Laboratory, KMUTT

ทุนให้เปล่าแก่นักศึกษาป.ตรี เพื่อเ? Since 1996, the Remediation Group (RMT) has been under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Paitip Thiravetyan.

The RMT group is in R&D BKT Cluster of Pilot Plant Development and Training Institute (PDTI), KMUTT (Bang Khun Thian Campus) and Sustainable Energy and Environment Cluster of KMUTT Research Units. Our group specializes in the treatment of wastewater by bioremediation and phytoremediation, adsorption technology, heavy metal recovery, and air pollution cleaning technologies. The research topics are

designed based on the environmental problems in Thailand. Our members have multidisciplinary background knowledge from diverse backgrounds: biology, biotechnology, public health, microbiology and environmental science. Integration of this multidisciplinary background knowledge enables us to create high performance innovation in order to solve real environmental problems. Nowadays, new knowledge from research and real site applications are developed. From 1996 to 2016, the RMT group has produced many students including international students (>18 Ph.D. students, and >30 M.Sc. students), who work on a variety of research topics. From 2000 to 2016, our research group has published >60 refereed international journal articles in ISI databases, one book, two book chapters, one E-book, 6 petty patents and numerous refereed conference proceedings. We have also developed wastewater treatment systems for printing industry for more than 10 years. Now we are developing a new air filtration system.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chairat Treesubsuntorn, head of the Remediation Laboratory, participated in an activity to analyze environmental problems in Bangkok and its vicinity, and to develop joint project proposals among universities, communities, and government agencies. The Remediation Laboratory recently welcomed Prof. Chin-Tsan Wang (National Ilan University) and Prof. Chyi-How Lay (Feng Chia University) from Taiwan for an inspiring visit and research discussion.

We are diving into the world of Microbial Fuel Cells (MFC) specifically focused on performance under low-gravity conditions. 🚀🔬

Exciting news for our students: Under this collaboration, National Ilan University is providing support for exchange students to fly to Taiwan for a 3-6 month research internship! We look forward to the innovative breakthroughs this partnership will bring.
