วันที่ 7 ตุลาคม 2569 สถาบันวิจัยสิ่งแวดล้อมเพื่อความยั่งยืน (SERI) จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย นำโดย อ.ดร. กัลยา สุนทรวงศ์สกุล (อาจารย์ประจำสถาบัน) ดร. ปัณฑิตา ตันวัฒนะ (นักวิจัยเชี่ยวชาญ) และ ดร. กิตติวุฒิ เฉลยถ้อย (นักวิจัย) ได้รับเชิญเข้าร่วมและเป็นวิทยากรในกิจกรรม Community Heat Risk Mapping and Action ของงาน Global Heat Forum ร่วมกับคณะทำงานจาก Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC), Thai Network for Disaster Resilience (TNDR) และคณะพยาบาลศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย เพื่อนำผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านการรับมือความร้อนจากทั่วโลกที่เข้าร่วมงาน Global Heat Forum เข้าเยี่ยมชมพื้นที่ชุมชนในกรุงเทพฯ ที่มีการจัดทำแนวทางการประเมินผลกระทบของความร้อนที่มีต่อสุขภาพของคนในชุมชนเมือง และการจัดทำแผนที่เสี่ยงความร้อนของชุมชน ซึ่งเป็นพื้นที่ศึกษาในโครงการ Enhance the Health Resilience of At-risk Communities against Climate Vulnerabilities in Critical Urban Centers of Thailand ภายใต้การสนับสนุนจาก มูลนิธิร็อกกี้เฟลเลอร์ (Rockefeller Foundation)

On October 7, 2026, the Sustainable Environment Research Institute (SERI), Chulalongkorn University, led by Dr. Kallaya Suntornvongsagul (Lecturer), Dr. Puntita Tanwattana (Researcher, Professional Level), and Dr. Kittiwoot Chaloeytoy (Researcher), was invited to attend and serve as guest speakers in the "Community Heat Risk Mapping and Action" activity at the Global Heat Forum. Organized in collaboration with working teams from the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC), the Thai Network for Disaster Resilience (TNDR), and the Faculty of Nursing, Chulalongkorn University, the initiative guided global heat resilience experts attending the forum on a field visit to urban communities in Bangkok. The visit highlighted the implementation of community heat impact health assessment guidelines and community heat risk mapping within study sites under the project titled "Enhance the Health Resilience of At-risk Communities against Climate Vulnerabilities in Critical Urban Centers of Thailand," supported by the Rockefeller Foundation.

วันที่ 6 ตุลาคม พ.ศ. 2569 สถาบันวิจัยสิ่งแวดล้อมเพื่อความยั่งยืน (SERI) จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย โดย ดร.วิไลลักษณ์ นิยมมณีรัตน์ (ผู้ช่วยผู้รักษาการแทนผู้อำนวยการ ด้านพัฒนากลุ่มวิจัยและหน่วยธุรกิจ) ในฐานะอาจารย์ประจำรายวิชา ได้จัดกิจกรรมการศึกษาดูงานต้นแบบการจัดการของเสียแบบบูรณาการแก่นิสิตรายวิชาการจัดการของเสีย จำนวน 12 คน ณ โรงกำจัดขยะผลิตไฟฟ้าเพื่อสิ่งแวดล้อมหนองแขม เขตหนองแขม กรุงเทพมหานคร โดยมีฝ่ายมวลชนสัมพันธ์ โรงกำจัดขยะผลิตไฟฟ้า หนองแขม กล่าวต้อนรับพร้อมบรรยายเกี่ยวกับแนวทางการดำเนินงาน และชมกระบวนการจัดการขยะ (Waste-to-Energy Process) ภายในโรงงานตั้งแต่กระบวนการคัดแยก การเตรียมขยะ การเผาขยะและผลิตพลังงานไฟฟ้า ระบบควบคุมมลพิษทางอากาศและน้ำ และเยี่ยมชมระบบจัดการของเสียส่วนอื่น ๆ เช่น เถ้าขยะ น้ำเสีย และของเสียอันตราย

การจัดกิจกรรมศึกษาดูงานดังกล่าว เพื่อส่งเสริมให้นิสิตได้มีประสบการณ์และแนวทางการจัดการขยะในระดับท้องถิ่น ชุมชนและเมือง, ส่งเสริมการเรียนรู้นอกห้องเรียน มีความรู้และความเข้าใจเกี่ยวกับหลักการจัดการของเสียแบบบูรณาการและเศรษฐกิจหมุนเวียน (Circular Economy) และส่งเสริมการใช้ทรัพยากรอย่างคุ้มค่าและลดผลกระทบต่อสิ่งแวดล้อม สนับสนุนการลดการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจกจากภาคการจัดการของเสีย รวมถึงสนับสนุนการบรรลุเป้าหมายการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน (SDGs) โดยเฉพาะ SDG 11 เมืองและชุมชนที่ยั่งยืน, SDG 12 การผลิตและการบริโภคที่ยั่งยืน และ SDG 13 การรับมือการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศ
Researchers from the Sustainable Environment Research Institute (SERI) organized a field trip for the Waste Management course under the "Model Integrated Waste Management Study Trip Project" at the Nong Khaem Waste-to-Energy Power Plant, Nong Khaem District, Bangkok (October 6, 2026)

On October 6, 2026, the Sustainable Environment Research Institute (SERI), Chulalongkorn University, led by Dr. Wilailuk Niyommaneerat (Acting Assistant Director of Research Groups and Business Development) as the course instructor, organized a model integrated waste management study trip for 12 students enrolled in the Waste Management course at the Nong Khaem Waste-to-Energy Power Plant, Nong Khaem District, Bangkok. The group was welcomed by the Public Relations Division of the Nong Khaem Waste-to-Energy Power Plant, who provided an overview of operational guidelines and guided a tour of the Waste-to-Energy Process inside the facility, covering waste sorting, waste preparation, incineration for power generation, air and water pollution control systems, as well as other waste management units, including ash, wastewater, and hazardous waste.

This study trip aimed to enhance students' hands-on experience and understanding of waste management approaches at local, community, and urban levels; foster experiential learning beyond the classroom; build knowledge of integrated waste management principles and the Circular Economy; promote efficient resource utilization while minimizing environmental impacts; support greenhouse gas emission reductions in the waste management sector; and contribute toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and SDG 13 (Climate Action).

On October 8, 2026, the Sustainable Environment Research Institute (SERI), Chulalongkorn University, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suthirat Kittipongvises (Acting Deputy Director of SERI and Head of Carbon Management Service Unit: CMS), together with Dr. Atima Dubsok (Researcher), held a discussion on research and academic collaboration with the Deputy Director and executive board of Chiangrai Prachanukroh Hospital, Chiang Rai Province, and visited the operations of the Hemodialysis Unit. On this occasion, SERI presented the outcomes of the project titled "Development and Transition towards Circular Economy in Healthcare Facilities in Thailand (FF69)" and discussed the future development of related Carbon Emissions databases.

The event was co-organized by the Social Research Institute, Chulalongkorn University in collaboration with the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI Asia), the Adaptation Research Alliance Thailand Secretariat (ARA Thailand), the Sustainable Environment Research Institute (SERI), Chulalongkorn University, the Energy Research Institute (ERI), Chulalongkorn University, and Integrated Agriculture, Chulalongkorn University (CU Agri) at the Social Innovation Hub, Visid Prachuabmoh Building, Chulalongkorn University.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Prof. Dr. Wilert Puriwat (President of Chulalongkorn University). The objectives of this activity were:
1. To disseminate findings and recommendations from the Climate Adaptation Research Forum (CARF).
2. To translate knowledge from CARF 2026 into action.
3. To expand the networks established through CARF 2026.

📦 นักวิจัยสถาบันฯ ร่วมขับเคลื่อน PPWR Sandbox เตรียมความพร้อมอุตสาหกรรมอาหารไทยสู่ตลาด EU (6 ต.ค. 2569)

วันที่ 6 ตุลาคม 2569 สถาบันวิจัยสิ่งแวดล้อมเพื่อความยั่งยืน (SERI) จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย โดย ดร.นันทมล ลิมป์พิทักษ์พงศ์ (นักวิจัย) ได้เข้าร่วมการประชุมหารือ โครงการ Sandbox สินค้าอาหาร ภายใต้กฎหมาย EU PPWR ณ ห้องประชุม GS1-1 SAHAPAT สภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย ในฐานะที่ปรึกษาการจัดทำยุทธศาสตร์คาร์บอนสุทธิเป็นศูนย์ สมาคมอุตสาหกรรมทูน่าไทย สมาคมการค้าอาหารสัตว์เลี้ยงไทย เพื่อร่วมพัฒนาแนวทางสำหรับบรรจุภัณฑ์ที่ใช้ในอุตสาหกรรม อาหารที่ส่งออกไปสหภาพยุโรป

ทั้งนี้ Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) เป็นกฎระเบียบสำคัญของสหภาพยุโรปด้านบรรจุภัณฑ์และขยะบรรจุภัณฑ์ ซึ่งเริ่มนำมาใช้ตั้งแต่วันที่ 12 สิงหาคม 2569 และมีข้อกำหนดที่จะทยอยมีผลตามกรอบเวลาที่กำหนด ครอบคลุมประเด็นสำคัญ เช่น การออกแบบบรรจุภัณฑ์ การรีไซเคิล การใช้วัสดุรีไซเคิล การติดฉลาก และ Substances of Concern (SoC)

การจัดทำ PPWR Sandbox จึงเป็นกลไกสำคัญในการเตรียมความพร้อมให้ผู้ประกอบการไทย ทั้งด้านข้อมูลวัสดุและองค์ประกอบของบรรจุภัณฑ์ การสอบกลับข้อมูล (traceability) และเอกสารที่เกี่ยวข้อง เพื่อรองรับข้อกำหนดของ EU และความต้องการของคู่ค้าในอนาคต

การหารือครั้งนี้เป็นความร่วมมือระหว่าง MTEC สภาหอการค้าแห่งประเทศไทย สภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย และหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้อง เพื่อร่วมกันเสริมความพร้อมและความสามารถในการแข่งขันของอุตสาหกรรมอาหารไทยในตลาดสหภาพยุโรป 🌏🤝

On October 6, 2026, the Sustainable Environment Research Institute (SERI), Chulalongkorn University, represented by Dr. Nantamol Limphitakphong (Researcher), attended the discussion meeting on the “Food Products Sandbox Project under EU PPWR Law.” Held at Room GS1-1, SAHAPAT Meeting Room, Federation of Thai Industries, Dr. Nantamol participated in her capacity as an advisor on net-zero carbon strategy development for the Thai Tuna Industry Association (TTIA) and the Thai Pet Food Trade Association (TPFA) to jointly develop guidelines for food industry packaging exported to the European Union.

The Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) is a key regulatory framework of the European Union governing packaging and packaging waste. Effective since August 12, 2026, its requirements are being introduced progressively according to set timelines, covering key aspects such as eco-design, recyclability, recycled content integration, labeling, and Substances of Concern (SoC).

The establishment of the PPWR Sandbox serves as a vital mechanism to prepare Thai entrepreneurs across material data, packaging component specs, data traceability, and compliance documentation to meet EU mandates and future trade partner requirements.

This discussion reflects a joint effort among the National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC), the Board of Trade of Thailand, the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), and relevant agencies to enhance the readiness and competitiveness of the Thai food industry in the European Union market. 🌏🤝

During the session, they presented research findings from the project "Enhance the Health Resilience of At-risk Communities against Climate Vulnerabilities in Critical Urban Centers of Thailand," supported by the Rockefeller Foundation. The study focuses on evaluating the impact of heat on the health of urban community members and mapping heat risk areas across Bangkok communities. This dataset will be used to support urban heat response planning and recommend sustainable guidelines for urban heat mitigation in the future.

วันที่ 5 ตุลาคม 2569 สถาบันวิจัยสิ่งแวดล้อมเพื่อความยั่งยืน (SERI) จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย ได้จัดพิธีทำบุญเลี้ยงพระเพื่อเป็นสิริมงคล เนื่องในโอกาสครบรอบ 52 ปี วันคล้ายวันสถาปนาสถาบันวิจัยสิ่งแวดล้อมเพื่อความยั่งยืน จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย ซึ่งจะครบรอบในวันที่ 5 ตุลาคม ของทุกปี
สถาบันฯ นำโดยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.พลกฤษณ์ แสงวณิช (ผู้รักษาการแทนผู้อำนวยการสถาบัน) พร้อมกับคณะผู้บริหารและบุคลากรของสถาบันฯ ได้ให้การต้อนรับบุคลากรจากทุกส่วนงานที่มาร่วมแสดงความยินดีในครั้งนี้ ณ ชั้น 15 อาคารสรรพศาสตร์วิจัย และมีการจัดพิธีทำบุญเลี้ยงพระเพื่อความเป็นสิริมงคล โดยได้รับเกียรติจากกรรมการบริหาร อดีตผู้บริหารและบุคลากรของสถาบันฯ เข้าร่วมงาน ซึ่งภายในงานได้จัดพิธีมอบโล่รางวัลแก่บุคลากร เพื่อสร้างขวัญกำลังใจตลอดการทำงานที่ผ่านมา

On October 5, 2026, the Sustainable Environment Research Institute (SERI), Chulalongkorn University, held a merit-making ceremony and offered food to Buddhist monks to mark the auspicious occasion of the 52nd anniversary of its founding, commemorated annually on October 5.

Led by Prof. Dr. Polkit Sangvanich (Acting Director of SERI), the executive team and staff welcomed representatives from various university units who came to extend their congratulations on the 15th floor of the Sabbasastravicaya Building. The ceremony was attended by members of the Executive Board, former executives, and personnel of the institute. Additionally, an award presentation was held to honor and boost the morale of the staff for their dedicated service.

SERI extends its heartfelt gratitude to all participating faculties and departments for their congratulations, as well as to all executives and distinguished guests who joined us on this special occasion.

วันที่ 2 ตุลาคม 2569 สถาบันวิจัยสิ่งแวดล้อมเพื่อความยั่งยืน จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย นำโดย รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร. สุทธิรัตน์ กิตติพงษ์วิเศษ (ผู้รักษาการแทนรองผู้อำนวยการสถาบัน) และ ดร.ธวัลหทัย สุภาสมบูรณ์ (ผู้ช่วยผู้รักษาการแทนผู้อำนวยการ ด้านวิรัชกิจและพัฒนาองค์กร) ให้การต้อนรับและแลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นด้านการวิจัยกับ Prof. Gerry Nagtzaam ศาสตราจารย์ประจำคณะนิติศาสตร์ Monash University ประเทศออสเตรเลีย และผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านกฎหมายสิ่งแวดล้อมระหว่างประเทศ

สถาบันฯ ได้นำเสนอภาพรวมการดำเนินงานและ Research Cluster ด้าน Climate Risk and Resilience (CRR) พร้อมแลกเปลี่ยนมุมมองด้านสิ่งแวดล้อมและความยั่งยืน โดย Prof. Gerry มีความเชี่ยวชาญด้านกฎหมายความหลากหลายทางชีวภาพ การเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศ และการกำกับดูแลด้านพลาสติก รวมถึงกระบวนการเจรจาสนธิสัญญาพลาสติกโลก (UN Global Plastic Treaty Negotiations)

การพบปะครั้งนี้เป็นโอกาสในการแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้ เปิดมุมมอง และสร้างเครือข่ายความร่วมมือทางวิชาการในระดับนานาชาติ ตลอดจนต่อยอดสู่ความร่วมมือด้านการวิจัยและประเด็นความยั่งยืนในอนาคต

On October 2, 2026, the Sustainable Environment Research Institute (SERI), Chulalongkorn University, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suthirat Kittipongvises (Acting Deputy Director of SERI) and Dr. Tawalhathai Suphasomboon (Acting Assistant Director of International Affairs and Organizational Development), welcomed Prof. Gerry Nagtzaam, Professor at the Faculty of Law, Monash University, Australia, and an expert in international environmental law, for an exchange of views on research and sustainability.

SERI presented an overview of its activities and the Climate Risk and Resilience (CRR) Research Cluster, while exchanging perspectives on environmental and sustainability issues. Prof. Gerry’s expertise covers biodiversity law, climate change law, and plastic regulation and governance, including the UN Global Plastic Treaty Negotiations.

The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange knowledge, broaden perspectives, and strengthen international academic networks, with potential for future collaboration in research and sustainability-related areas.
