On 12 October 2026, the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management, Faculty of Engineering and Industrial Technology, Silpakorn University, hosted a Dhamma Talk titled “From Engineer to Monk.” The event invited students to explore engineering thinking, teamwork, and the meaning of life.
We were honoured to welcome two venerable speakers:
🔸 Venerable Bhikkhu Agga Pañño (Laurensius Tionardi), a German Buddhist monk with extensive experience in engineering and international project management, including roles at Siemens and Daimler-Benz, as well as work in SAP Logistics.
🔸 Venerable Phatdech Fimuedee (Kruba Chu), an alumnus of King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology North Bangkok, with experience in information technology, team building, and sales management before pursuing Buddhist study and meditation.
Both speakers shared their journeys from professional life to a path of inner peace. Their experiences encouraged students to think systematically, understand themselves and others, and reflect on what success and true happiness mean in their own lives. 🌱
The department extends its heartfelt gratitude to both venerable speakers for sharing their wisdom and inspiring our students to grow as future engineers and as individuals. 🙏
