You probably only know about Taiwan because of the street food and bubble tea, but there’s much more to the country than just that! Here’s 10 fun facts:

1. Taiwan has influences from Japan, Korea, and Mainland China, making the culture a unique synthesis of those countries
2. Taipei is actually built on an old lakebed
3. Taiwan has the second highest ratio of convenience stores to population in the world
4. Garbage trucks play Beethoven’s “Fur Elise” so people can hear when it comes to collect trash
5. Taiwan has the second highest number of hot springs in the world, after Japan
6. 35/156th happiest country in the world
7. Bubble tea was actually invented in Taiwan
8. Taiwan was one of the first places to offer free mass scale wifi to citizens. You can get wifi from almost everywhere, from MRT stations to public pay phone booths
9. The iconic Taipei 101 was the tallest building in the world until 2010
10. Taiwan has many cafes, coffee shops and restaurants that are open early morning and late into the night, so getting a meal at any time is incredibly easy

There is an option for students to enrol in the Dual-Degree Program, which gives students the opportunity to split up their 4 year study into 2+2 years in Taiwan and Saginaw Valley State University in the US, or 3+1 years in Taipei and Northumbria University in the UK. Students will get degrees from BOTH Ming Chuan and its partner school, which may add something special to a CV as well as enrich the University life of those who wish to join.

Did you know that MCU actually has 5 different campuses? They can be found in Taipei, Taoyuan, Kinmen and even Michigan (U.S.)

Fun fact : MCU is actually the first U.S. accredited University in Asia, and the only Taiwanese university to have an American branch !

Some info regarding course offerings!
All of the courses are taught in english and aim to provide the most relevant and important information.
Required classes cover a wide variety of business field subjects, including, but not limited to, Marketing management, International economics, Accounting, Consumer behaviour, Financial management and Human resources management.
For electives, students can explore other interests, for example, Psychology, Critical literacy, Intermediate mandarin, Electronic commerce, Human evolution, Readings of selected short stories, Industrial psychology and many more.
The included attachments are example flow charts of the 3 major concentrations, Marketing, Finance and Human resources.
