TBC, Taiwanese Business and Culture, is a new summer program operated by a group of Taiwanese college students, most of whom are VIA (Volunteers in Asia, a non-profit organization based in Stanford University) alumni. TBC started since 2011, and had five people in the staff team and ten people as participants from Japan, Taiwan, and America. This year, we have 11 people for preparation and eight o
f them will guide you when exploring with TBC! TBC aims to introduce Taiwanese business and culture especially to people from countries outside of Taiwan through company visits, lectures on Taiwanese business and economy, cultural presentations, and touring activities. As a program launched by VIA alumni, TBC's target is mainly VIA alumni from Japan, Korea, and America. Non-VIA-alumni people are also welcomed to join TBC as long as they are interested in knowing Taiwan and making new friends. From September 2nd night to September 7th afternoon, lasting five days and five nights. Due to the time limit, all activities will take place in Taipei City or New Taipei City. HOW MUCH IS THE CHARGE AND WHAT DOES IT COVER? The total charge for TBC 2012 is USD 400, covering food, activities, lectures, company visits, transportation, lodging, and insurance. Recruitment Policy:
1. Only the first 25 applications will be accepted, among which 12 applicants will be chosen to be TBC program participants.
2. VIA programs' alumni/ teachers/ coordinators have the priority to participate the program.
3. Applicants' motives should be strong enough, which can be what motivates you to apply for the program, what you want to learn about, and what you expect to experience, etc. Join TBC, explore Taipei, and create great memories with us. :)
