It was party time last Sunday at Nyakasura Schools. We joined them in celebrating the 2014 national debate championship!

A banner at the main hall of Nyakasura School, Fort Portal, Feb. 24, 2015, congratulates the school's debating club which won the National Schools Debate Championship that were held at the Parliament buildings in Kampala in Dec. 2014.

In the final contested by 25 schools, Nyakasura School defeated another institution with a long debating history, Ntare School of Mbarara.

A whole cross-section of cabinet ministers, ambassadors, lawyers, politicians, army officers, senior civil servants over the last 50 years went through this school, founded in 1926. (PHOTO: Timothy Kalyegira/Kampala Express)
