To all of you who are interested in working in sports marketing and branding: make sure to come out to our chapel this Thursday in Don Morris 320! We will be skyping in a guest speaker who currently works with multiple NFL teams across the country in sports marketing, advertising, and branding. There will also be time for Q&A, so be ready to have your questions answered. You won't want to miss this!

Dale Morris, vice president & managing director for Community Affairs of American Airlines, will be the featured speaker at the next Abilene Public Relations Organization Luncheon, Tuesday, April 16 in Room 108 of the Moody Center on the campus at Hardin-Simmons University. Morris is based at American Airlines’ corporate headquarters in Irving.

“Dale ‘owns’ the relationships between American Airlines and its regional community partners at both the city/county and airport levels, including Abilene,” said Lynne Bruton, president of Abilene PRO. “We are pleased to host this special program and business update by American Airlines. American Eagle has approximately 500 employees based at Abilene Regional Airport and is a vitally important part of our business community.”

Morris’ presentation will include details about American's new marketing and branding plans, as well as its pending merger with U.S. Air.

JMC students, faculty and staff will gather at 9 a.m. Monday in Don Morris 320 for a brief time of prayer, praise and reflection. Lindsey Smith was a student in the JMC 100 Media Issues class with Doug Mendenhall that usually meets in that room at that time. We will keep Lindsey's family in our prayers, and pray for healing for all the others who were involved, particularly our other majors Rebekah Cherniss and Eric Terrazas and Optimist photographer Deanna Romero as well as Bo Braddock and Callie Kerbo and the family of the other driver,Jeffrey Davis of Abilene.
