Logsdon School of Theology and Logsdon Seminary Awards Ceremony 2020

Each spring Logsdon hosts an award ceremony in which we honor outstanding achievements among our undergraduate and seminary students, as well as among those who have graduated in the past year or are graduating next month. Since we could not gather for the ceremony which was scheduled for tonight, the faculty prepared this video so that we could still honor the great achievements of our students. Special thanks to Kelly Pigott for superb video editing! Be sure to send words of congratulations to our award winners as you watch.

Since we were unable to do this live, the faculty put this video together to honor our award recipients. Congratulations to all the winners!

Ben Johnson, Logsdon Chapel, 4-16-20

This week Ben Johnson, Weekend Services Pastor at Beltway Park, was scheduled to be our Logsdon chapel speaker. Since we are no longer streaming services from the chapel, we asked Ben to make a video devotional that we might share with you all. I hope you will be encouraged as Ben shares some of his personal struggles and offers a helpful perspective from Philippians 4:4-9 about rejoicing and not being anxious during these difficult times. Thank you Ben!

Welcome House Knoxville celebrates the call of Ikojoh Sunny (Sunny) as Minister of Hospitality. In this role, Sunny will receive, orient, and host guests while being available for any pastoral needs, working closely with Director Cindy Hood.

Sunny hails from Nigeria and is a recent graduate of Logsdon Seminary in Abilene, Texas. Sunny is preparing for ordination to the Gospel Ministry in March. His employment with WHK is made possible in 2020 through a partnership grant from Cooperative Baptist Fellowship Student.Go initiative.

Join us in welcoming Sunny to this vital ministry. He would welcome the opportunity to visit over coffee or lunch, share his story, and that of Welcome House Knoxville! You can find Sunny on FB. Help Rick and Cindy orient Sunny to Knoxville!

Thank you for your ongoing support of what God is doing through WHK! He is preparing us for a season of growth and harvest!

Hey! Benji Van Fleet (MDIV, 2015) here... are you passionate about bringing children, youth, and young adults into a rich relationship with Jesus as his disciples? FUMC STANTON is searching for a full-time Director of Family Life and Missions! For more information and full Job description, send me a private message, or click the link on our website! www.stantonumc.com
This holiday season, more than ever, “There’s No Place Like Shalom”.
I've gotten a request from the South Plains BSM looking for a female associate director. Anyone have a recommendation or interest? Jeff Berry, the Director, is a Logsdon grad.
I love you, Logsdon peeps! You all have been in my spirit all day! My heart is connected to all of you, and you have reached me inwardly in a way that you probably don't understand. We still have work to do and it's a GREAT one.
Thank you Logsdon for what God is using you to do in my life. It's more in depth than even I can understand or explain. God bless.
Thought the student might find this helpful as the new semester begins.
Thanks for the invite
I hope that you will consider following the beautiful example set by Grace Church Indiana https://youtu.be/jNQLNs-6RS0 and Christ Church of Oakbrook https://www.cc-ob.org/glsupdate and pause on hosting the Willow Creek Global Leadership Summit to stand in solidarity with the multiple victims at Willow Creek Community Church. So far 206 churches in the US have cancelled their hosting because of Bill Hybels' abusive actions and the dehumanising response from Willow Creek elders and the Willow Creek Association. I hope you will also carefully consider the ways in which the Willow Creek Association, in their response, has denied and minimized Bill Hybels' actions and otherwise focused more on image-repair than on finding truth and taking corrective action, as outlined in Julia Dahl's academic analysis on this twitter thread https://twitter.com/jdahlmd/status/997868736668405761 For further information Andy Rowell has compiled a bibliography of posts and arictles, including multiple articles from the victims at Willow Creek, here http://www.andyrowell.net/andy_rowell/2018/06/list-of-articles-from-allegations-to-resignation-of-bill-hybels.html
Will there be a gathering of Logsdon folks at the CBF General Assembly in Dallas this coming June? I hope so!! 😊
Love it!
Passing this along today...
