Missio Dei Journal

If you haven't had a chance to check out the the newest issue of Missio Dei, check it out at http://missiodeijournal.com.

If you don't know about Missio Dei, we highly recommend you get to know them.

Missio Dei: A Journal of Missional Theology and Praxis (MDJ) is a digital medium for exploring the rich tradition and ongoing practice of participation in the mission of God among churches of the Stone-Campbell Restoration Movement, particularly Churches of Christ/Christian Churches and Churches of Christ (a ca****la), in an open dialogue with Christian missiology. MDJ is published semiannually by the Missio Dei Foundation. The foundation endeavors to produce a high-quality, open-access missiological journal.

Assistant editor, Dr. Chris Flanders, is associate professor of missions in the GST. He served as the guest editor for this recent issue on honor-shame issues in missions and wrote the editorial preface.

In this current issue of MDJ, those with connections to the GST include current professor Dr. Mindi Thompson. Also contributing to this issue are several graduates of the GST, which include Dr. Sherry Bennett Fariss (now serving with Pioneer Bible Translators), Dr. Dan Bouchelle (president of Mission Resource Network), Dr. J. Omar Palafox, David Allen, Andy Johnson, Jeremy Davis, and Travis Allen Myers.

Missio Dei is an open-source missiological journal associated with churches of the Stone-Campbell Restoration Movement.

Great work by our friends over in CSART.

An international team directed by CSART associate director Curt Niccum and Steve Delamarter has been awarded a $300,000 grant from the National Endowment of the Humanities to produce print and digital editions of eight Old Testament books in Ge’ez, the ancient language of Ethiopia. The collaboration by scholars and students will greatly inform our understanding of the complex history of the text of the Ethiopic Bible.

Christian Spiritual Formation with Houston Heflin, May 2019
Wanted to share a ministry opportunity I saw on TV this week. There are so many innocent girls and plural marriage women in need of education & knowledge. I have done some research on this and it seems like a good time for a group to move there and lead. My heart really goes out when I here these stories. God bless! Here is the link:
