Due to possible storms and for the safety of our graduates and their families, the Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 16, will be held in Kuch Alumni Gymnasium, beginning at 10am.

Please note, the indoor Commencement Ceremony is a ticketed event. Tickets are required for all guests. Graduates do not need a ticket.

We remain cautiously optimistic that Friday’s Undergraduate Commencement will be held outdoors on Haber Green. The start time may shift to 9 a.m. to avoid severe weather. We know this may affect travel and appreciate your flexibility as we prioritize our graduates.

We're proud to celebrate one of our own - Efrain Nuñez, a graduate who overcame cancer and is now earning a Master's in Counseling. His strength and resilience is truly inspiring!

Just months ago, Efrain was working full-time, completing his internship, and preparing for graduation when he received life-altering news.

Happy Pi Day! 🥧🔢Did you know that no matter where you are on the planet, if you divide a circle by its diameter, you’ll always get the same number? That’s the magic of pi!

Dr. Carlos Ortiz from Arcadia’s Mathematics and Computer Science Department breaks it down for us: Pi isn’t just a number, it’s EVERYWHERE. From different civilizations, to modern engineering, designing gears and wheels to calculating navigation on Earth, pi helps shape the world around us! And the wildest part? The world record for calculating the digits of pi is around 105 trillion digits!

Marissa Boyers Bluestine, Assistant Director of the Quattrone Center for the Fair Administration of Justice at Penn Carey Law, will address doctoral and master’s degree candidates on May 15.

Michele Pistone, Villanova Law Professor and immigration advocate, will address baccalaureate candidates on May 16.

As a first-generation college graduate, Dr. Donavan McCargo, Arcadia’s VP for Campus Life and Dean of Students, knows the challenges, and opportunities that come with being the first in your family to earn a degree. More than 1 in 5 Arcadia students share this journey, along with many faculty and staff, including “Dr. Don” himself.

Some of his top tips for first-gen students:

The University has learned that the township has lifted the one-mile radius shelter-in-place order as of 11 a.m.

Please check your emails for an update on campus operations and select events.

Classes will return to normal operations tomorrow, Feb. 20.

The shelter in place order for Arcadia University now only applies to those within one mile of the SPS site, which puts Arcadia’s Glenside campus (other than 125 Royal Ave.) outside of the zone of concern.

Campus operations will resume on Wednesday, Feb. 19, on a staggered basis. However, classes will be fully remote. In an abundance of caution, we encourage individuals to minimize their time outdoors, to keep windows and doors closed, and to avoid driving within one mile of the SPS site, if possible. Check email for further details.

Due to a fire at SPS Technologies in Jenkintown, local authorities have issued a shelter-in-place order for the immediate area, including our Glenside campus. As a result, classes are canceled for students on Tuesday, Feb. 18. PA and PT students will receive instruction from their programs. We urge community members to shelter in place and remain in your residences with the windows closed. Students, faculty, and staff should check their email for more information.
