A Statement from Arcadia’s Model United Nations
Racism and racial discrimination have no place within our organization, our community, or our world.
In response to recent acts of racial violence and police brutality throughout the country, let it be known that Arcadia’s Model United Nations Association stands with the African American community and all peoples of color, and is committed to creating a space of inclusion and fostering a community of belonging.
We are outraged beyond words at the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and far too many more. Their senseless deaths highlight the need for all members of our community to come together and say, Black Lives Matter.
Arcadia's Model United Nations has always believed in principles of equality but will be considering more avenues in order to become a force for progressive change. The time for silence amid racism is over. Now is the time for action and we all must do better.
