Linn-Benton Community College Foundation

Linn-Benton Community College Foundation Nonprofit 501(c)3 corp. that solicits, accepts, manages, invests & distributes contributions for the betterment of the college and its students.

Formed in 1972, the LBCC Foundation supports many activities each year including: providing student scholarships, grants and loans; enhancing the College library and expanding technology; bringing visiting scholars, artists, and cultural/educational programs to the campus; replacing instructional equipment and funding major new campus facilities. There are many ways you can give to the LBCC Foundation and provide enhanced access to quality educational opportunities to individuals in need of assistance. Your gift will support education and, at the same time, achieve maximum tax benefits for you. Contributions may be made by gifts of cash, equipment, securities, insurance policies, real or personal property, provisions of a will, or establishment of a trust. As a donor, you can outline specific instructions as to the use of your gift, or leave the administration of your gift to the discretion of the Foundation's Board of Trustees. Please consult with your personal financial and estate planning advisors in order to determine how a gift to the LBCC Foundation can fit your objectives. Additional information about the Foundation is available by contacting us at 541-917-4209.

Our 50th Anniversary Celebration at Deluxe Brewing was a blast, with lots of college faculty, staff and friends stopping by and kegs of our very own Roadrunner Red IPA brewed by Deluxe! Russell Tripp, one of our founding board members, stopped in to toast the college- wearing his cool top hat (shown here with LB President Greg Hamann, right, and board member Dick Running). Forty-three years working at LBCC sounds like a long time, but it’s really flown by. I have considered LBCC “my home away from home” with so many friends, colleagues, students and community members to keep as fond memories. You all do such important and good work! Take care of one another, be kind and keep a sense of humor and fun in your work life; stay positive and strong, celebrate all the big and little victories, throw parties, dress up and eat lots of chocolate .
I’m finally “really” retiring; but, yes, I’m coming back from time to time for those special events, projects and visits. Thank you for being there for me during difficult times and during the
fun times as well; you all are so very special!

Live well,
Laugh often,
Love much!

It’s “Giving Tuesday!” Consider giving the gift of education! Not only will you be helping LBCC students be the best they can be - you can feel good knowing that your dollars are helping someone else succeed! Maybe you - as a student - were the recipient of someone’s generosity. Now may be a great time for you to pay it forward with a gift that will give back forever! Your donation to the LBCC Foundation, no matter the size, provides much-appreciated support – providing education that makes a difference to our students, our communities and our world. For that, we thank you! #givingtuesday http://bit.ly/2g26OKh

Today was the Grand Opening of the Innovation and Heavy Transportation Building at the LBCC Advanced Transportation Technology Center (ATTC) in Lebanon, Oregon. We had about 300 people attend who enjoyed a wonderful lunch provided by
NW Natural. The local Rollin' Oldies have made a donation for their LBCC scholarship and we had a photo opportunity with LBCC President, Greg Hamann and College Advancement Director,
Dale Stowell. Thank you for your support for our students!
Many other supporters and donors were on hand to see the new facility. Senator Ron Wyden and Congressman Peter DeFazio were there to speak as well as Karmen Fore from the Governor's Office, Lebanon City Manager Gary Marks and Ryan Jefferis of Daimler Corp.

A message from the LBCC Foundation Executive Director,
Dale Stowell to the LBCC community:

For me and many others, the LBCC Foundation is the charity of choice for the bulk of our charitable giving. Staff giving (number and percentage of staff who give) is often considered by private foundations when they decide whether to support Foundation requests, so no matter what you can give, you can make an enormous difference in the lives of students … and you do! Please consider joining me and the many faculty, staff, administration and students who also give to the LBCC Foundation.

As an alumnus who owes so much to this institution, I am privileged to serve as the LBCC Foundation executive director, and I am very grateful for all the financial and emotional support we receive from all of you year round in support of the students at LBCC.

The Foundation is an independent non-profit whose mission is to support the students at LBCC. It is governed by a volunteer board who gives generously themselves and also helps us raise money elsewhere. Thanks to everyone for support and efforts (whether through the LBCC Foundation, your college roles ... or both) to benefit our students and communities.

Find out more about "Ways to Give" at linnbenton.edu/foundation. You'll find a gift calculator, online donation processes and information on giving to the Foundation.

Linn-Benton Community College Event Specific Plans

Due to the nature of the situation at Umpqua Community College Thursday morning, you may see an Albany Police Department patrol car intermittently around campus. Rest assured, this is simply a precautionary measure. We do not believe there is a threat to LBCC. The police department simply wants to provide a presence to support our campus community and help to maintain the safety of our staff and students.

If there were a threat or emergency, we would notify you via our alarm system;email; text, or voicemail messages to your cell phone; our web page; LBCC Facebook; or a combination of these communication tools. It is always good to stay connected with as many of these to ensure you get timely information.

Our goal is to maintain a safe learning and working environment. We encourage you to review emergency response protocols for our campuses that are available at the LBCC website - http://www.linnbenton.edu/faculty-and-staff/hr-public-safety-and-other-services/public-safety-emergency-planning-ehs/emergency-plans-teams-services/event-specific-plans. Each campus also has an orange emergency response brochure you can pick up with the basic protocols at the Public Safety Office or respective administrative office at the centers. Being knowledgeable about response procedures and participating actively in emergency drills and practice will empower all of us to be advocates for our safety should an emergency occur.

If you would like to talk further about emergency response, feel free to contact the Public Safety Office.
