GVSU Housing Your Housing. Your Choice.

Living on campus gives you opportunities and advantages that can make your college experience more memorable, more enjoyable, and more successful. And because students who live on campus get better grades and are more likely to graduate than those who don't, you realize that living on campus is really about more than a lifestyle--it's about your life.

Meet Jenna, your RA for ROMP! She is a sophomore majoring in Social Work with a minor in Criminal Justice. She loves being an RA because she gets to establish amazing friendships with the other RAs and getting more informed on campus life and resources to better serve her residents. Her favorite thing about living on campus is interacting with other students and exploring the ravines. If she could give advice to a future Laker, she said, "don't be afraid to go out of your comfort zone and try new things because you will definitely be pleasantly surprised!" Some fun facts about Jenna: she loves painting, reading, attending concerts (can't wait until they start up again!), eco-friendly living, and is an avid plant lover! #GVSUHousing #LiveLikeALaker

Meet Court, your RA for NHF! She is a junior majoring in Nursing with a minor in Psychology. She loves being an RA because it allows her to guide first-year students through challenges as well as witness their triumphs. Being able to connect with residents & establish a welcoming community for their new home is the best. In addition to being an RA, she is currently the Vice President of Public Relations & Fundraising for Alternative Breaks & is in the Student Nurses Association. Her favorite thing about living on campus is being so close to everything & having all of her fellow RAs as neighbors(: If she could give advice to a future Laker, she said, "get out there & do things that you have a passion for!" Some fun facts about Court: a lot of people describe her as hippie dippie, (which is quite accurate). She loves camping, baking, chasing sunsets, collecting records, hiking, spending time with her friends, painting, & spontaneous adventures. #GVSUHousing #LiveLikeALaker

She is also involved with NRHH (National Residence Hall Honorary) and has participated in Alternative Breaks! Her favorite thing about living on campus is her RA community! The people she's met through being an RA have become her best friends. The entire experience has given her a new perspective and given her a sense of purpose at GVSU. If she could give advice to a future Laker, she said, "Enjoy it. Enjoy the lows just as much as the highs! Be open to developing your own thoughts and opinions and take the time to hear other people's perspectives." Some fun facts about Katie: she was born in Connecticut! She enjoys playing the ukulele, hiking, and being with friends. #GVSUHousing #LiveLikeALaker
