Every year the ACC Theatre and the ACC Foundation reach out for contributions to support our Summer Children’s Theatre Festival. While we have unfortunately decided to cancel this year’s Festival due to safety concerns, we at ACC Theatre are looking ahead optimistically to next year. Our Summer Children’s Theatre Festival relies on the support of our community, now more than ever.

The Annual Summer Children’s Theatre Festival has been a part of local children’s lives for thirty-five years. The program consists of two productions each year. The cast of these productions are comprised entirely of children ages 6-17 from all around the Alvin area, who enjoy the chance to experience a full audition, rehearsal, and performance process. For many, this is the first opportunity to participate in theatre or the fine arts. The audiences of these performances are primarily groups from local daycares – further enabling us to bring an authentic, fulfilling theatre experience to these young people as well. Donations from our patrons and friends of the ACC Foundation allow us to keep ticket prices low, and there is no cost to audition or participate in our productions, meaning that we can truly make high quality children’s theatre accessible to everyone.

To help us out, please visit the ACC Marketplace at https://epay.alvincollege.edu/C20358_ustores/web/classic/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCTID=377. Your contribution will help us host next summer’s Summer Children’s Theatre Festival despite the hardships of this year. There are also many other options to give charitably through the ACC Foundation, including the ACC COVID-19 Emergency Fund which directly aids ACC students and staff affected by the pandemic.

Thank you for your continued patronage of Alvin Community College Theatre, and your support for the ACC Foundation. We look forward to continuing to serve the youth of our community.

ACC Theatre has decided to cancel all events on our summer calendar, including both Summer Children’s Theatre Festival productions and all in-person scholarship audition dates. Given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the calls for continued social distancing, we at ACC Theatre want to ensure that the health of our staff, students, volunteers, patrons, and participating families is our highest priority. Despite our disappointment, we hope to do our part in protecting our community and preventing further COVID-19 spread.

As an alternative option for prospective ACC Drama students, we are accepting scholarship auditions submitted online. For full information, submission instructions, and the required application forms, contact the Box Office at [email protected]. Registration for the Fall 2020 semester at ACC opens on May 12th and closes on August 17th.

For the continued safety of our staff, the Box Office on the ACC campus will remain closed indefinitely. Instead of calling the Box Office, please email us at [email protected], or message us through Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter (@ACCTheatre on all platforms).

Thank you for supporting ACC Theatre through this difficult time. We will continue to share any updates promptly, and look forward to opening our doors to the community for the upcoming 2020-2021 season.

ACC Theatre would like to share some important announcements affecting our patrons and community. As of today, Friday April 3rd, changes have been made to our events calendar in the interest of public health following the continued spread of COVID-19.

In the interest of safety, auditions for the 36th Annual Summer Children’s Theatre Festival will not be held on May 5th-6th as scheduled. However, the Summer Children’s Theatre Festival has not been cancelled at this time. We are evaluating all options available to us and hope to be able to continue with our summer events if at all possible. The health of our community is ACC Theatre’s highest priority, and we will not be hosting summer children’s theatre events if they place our staff, volunteers, patrons, and participating families in danger. We will announce any updates promptly as decisions are made.

The in-person scholarship auditions scheduled for April 14th and May 19th have been cancelled. All later scholarship audition dates (June 23rd, July 21st, and August 4th) are still scheduled as of today, but they will only be held as planned if it is safe for all involved. If these audition dates are cancelled, those announcements will be posted publicly. As an alternative option for prospective students, beginning April 6th we will be accepting scholarship auditions submitted online. For full instructions on how to submit a scholarship audition online and to request the application forms, contact the Box Office. Registration for the Fall 2020 semester at ACC opens on May 12th and closes on August 17th.

For the safety of our staff, the Box Office on the ACC campus is closed indefinitely. Instead of calling the Box Office, please email us at [email protected]. Alternatively, message us through Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter (@ACCTheatre on all platforms). We will be posting all updates on social media, so keep an eye out for further announcements.

We would like to thank our community for its patronage. ACC Theatre just concluded a successful regular season, with three truly great productions. Thank you to the students, cast members, volunteers, and patrons who helped to make this past regular season one of ACC Theatre’s strongest yet. All of us at ACC Theatre look forward to continuing our mission of making high quality community theatre accessible to all and creating valuable opportunities in theatre for everyone.

We urge our community to stay informed, safe, and healthy. Please follow the orders, guidelines, and recommendations laid down by the CDC and our local, state, and federal governments. ACC Theatre sends its thoughts and well-wishes to everyone in our wonderful community.
