A fantastic article written by a Kansas Highway Superintendent.

Please remember to clear off your vehicle before driving for your safety and others!

Please remember to clear off your vehicle before driving for your safety and others!

With more "weather" here today, we remind motorists to clean snow and ice from their vehicles before heading out on the roads. If you don't, you're creating a safety hazard for others (and for yourself) and will be pulled over if we see you. Snow on windshields can block a driver's vision and can blow off into the line of sight of other motorists. (And please don't pull the "I will clear just my half of the windshield or make a porthole to look out" thing... that still causes a hazard to yourself and others. It's like driving with a front passenger seat crammed full of inflated balloons.) Snow left on top of a vehicle, either passenger or commercial, can fall onto other vehicles or the highway, obstructing the sight or traction of vehicles behind you. And even snow left piled in the open bed of a truck can blow out and cause its own snow squall. All these scenarios present hazards and could result in enforcement action. So please do the right thing by yourself and others and clear your vehicles off before getting on the roads. We thank you in advance for your courtesy.

We've officially upgraded the winter storm watch to a winter storm warning. Confidence has grown that the rain/snow line will be far enough south to allow snowfall amounts of a foot or more for portions of eastern MA and Rhode Island. Coastal Flood watch in effect as well. Significant impacts to travel during the evening commute are expected tomorrow.

GOT MUD
Remote working takes a different role where I come from. The only way to get an internet connection with enough speed to upload files is to park outside our town hall. Truck doors locked and windows up. Keep calm, keep a safe distance and keep training!
