Multicultural Association of Psychology Students (MAPS) To create awareness of diversity while providing an outlet for members to learn more about the field of psychology and gain some leadership experience.

The Psychology Department houses a student-run organization called Multicultural Association of Psychology Students (or MAPS). This is a 5-college multicultural club that is focused on encouraging diversity in the department and in the field of psychology in general.

Mission: Through meetings, educational events, bulletin boards, socials, and guest speakers, MAPS strives to create awareness of diversity while providing an outlet for members to learn more about the field of psychology and gain some leadership experience. All are welcome in this organization.

Dr. Nilanjana Dasgupta is the MAPS faculty adviser. Her work focuses on the interface of non-conscious social cognition and inter-group relations, and she has an interest in how the culture in which people live shapes their mind and affects their overt and covert social behavior toward disadvantaged and advantaged groups.
