Wow, haven't been on this page in a year! So since I took a semester off and I know theres a lot of out-dated things on this page, I decided to make a new page for this year's classes. The page is called

Group Fit with Julia and the picture is UMass Campus Recreation(just in case you want to make sure its the right one!!)

Hello everyone! I hope you're having a wonderful, relaxing long weekend! Unfortunately, I have some bad news :/

Wednesday I had to rush to the ER and discovered that I had appendicitis. Wednesday night, at around 10pm, I had surgery and got my angry appendix removed (yay!)
While I'm in recovery now and allowed to do easy, non-strenuous things, I am not ready or cleared to teach for about 3-4 weeks.
So, I hate to say I will not be teaching for the next few weeks :( I have some wonderful subs lined up for kickboxing and spinning, so just because I'm not there doesn't mean you can't be! They'll give you just as awesome of a workout as you've been showing me the past couple weeks!

I'll miss you all and can't wait to get back on my feet. so I'll do my best to make a speedy and full recovery! :) Thank you all for understanding and I hope to see you ASAP! :)

Nothing is better than when a new kicker comes up and talks about how awesome and positive the vibes are in class- that's not me- that's YOU guys! You keep me going and keep me positive even on my worst days- so thanks to all of you for keeping my chin up and my heart in it when I'm feeling down!!

I love waking up in the morning, dragging my butt out of bed and over to the rec center, and seeing a crowd at 6:15! Thank you to everyone who made it out super early- what a great way to start the day! :)

Holy moly! This morning was absolutely AMAZING- so great to see so many people make it out for 6:15 am! We all kicked butt- and everyone's energy was incredible! Thank you for that lovely wake up call :)

Don't forget! SPINNING this evening at 4pm! Super pumped for an old school throwback playlist today- so many fun tracks for us! See ya there :)

Happy first day of the semester everyone! You know what that means- first day of group fitness classes!

We have tons of new instructors and classes, so make sure to try something new these first few weeks! Syllabus week is a great time to sample some classes and discover new interests! :)

Here's the class times!
oh, and make sure you clear your calendar for

Kickboxing Monday at 7:30, Wednesday 6:15, Sunday 2:30

and my first semester of Spinning Wednesdays 4-5pm!

I know the schedule says 6:15 - 6:45 on Wednesday morning kick, but an adjustment was made and it's now 6:15 - 7:15 so we can get that full hour in!

Can't wait to kick the semester off on the right foot and get back in the game with you guys, I know I've missed classes and friends at the rec all summer long!

Just got finished with our last class of the semester.. it's crazy how fast time has flown by! Thank you all so much for sticking with me this whole semester, and for my first year at UMass Campus Recreation ! Can't wait to kick it up a knotch next semester- stay tuned because I'll be posting next semester's schedule and fun work out tips and things over the summer to keep up the good work! 30 Workouts Under 30 Minutes You Can Do Anywhere

Happy Monday! With finals coming up fast and the semester drawing to a close, I know making time to get to the gym and get a good workout in is difficult. BUT that doesn't mean it's impossible to get yourself moving and work up a quick sweat! I found this article and thought it was perfff for these next ~2 weeks!

All are under 30 minutes! :)

You don't need to work out for hours: These workouts are all 30 minutes or less. And you can do them pretty much anywhere, anytime (as long as you have an internet connection).

Hey guys! I can't believe I'm saying this, but we only have FOUR kick classes left this semester! Can you believe it?! That means (because of all the Monday schedules!)

Tomorrow 6:30 AM Room 215
Thursday 6:30 AM Room 215
Tuesday (next week!) 6:30 AM Room 215,
and Wednesday April 29th, 12 PM Room 118!

because there's only four classes left, I'm going to be doing any/all routines from the entire year! (Yes year, not just this semester!) so who knows what'll show up! I

f you have any suggestions or favorites you'd like to do one last time before summer, let me know here or in class and I'll make sure to add them in!

I might have a sheet up at the front of class tomorrow and Thursday for suggestions or requests for the last few classes, so definitely let me know!

4/5 days of Kick in a row completed! Thank you to all of you who keep coming every time - I'm trying to switch up our routines day-to-day so that we don't go too crazy! Today's class was absolutely awesome- thank you for making it out on such a beautiful sunny day!
Someone suggested to me after class that maybe next time we try a class outside- for the last Wednesday of the semester! (the 29)- i would have to look into where and how we would play music, but any thoughts?

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you all enjoy the incredible weather today! As the semester comes to an end, I hope you all are remembering to make time for yourselves and are getting enough sleep, eating well, and relaxing every once and a while if you get a chance! :) This coming weekend there are no group fitness classes... BUT
I'm subbing for the wonderful kick-ass Katie tonight at 4:45 in 215! and normal schedule Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday! Let's kick it! ;)

Awesome job this week guys! First week back from spring break, but we've been scorching it! I know I'VE been super sore the past couple days, so thank YOU guys for pushing me every step of the way! so, I'll be subbing for the lovely Hannah tomorrow morning, and she'll be taking the Tuesday morning this week! New routines will be finalized for Wednesday's noon class- so tomorrow will be familiar! Enjoy the last night of break!

I wanted to thank everyone who came out to my 12:00 class today in 118 - this week has been taking a toll and I've noticed myself not taking the time to appreciate and enjoy the little things that make me happy and make my day brighter - I've just been focusing on the next "thing I have to do".
But today you guys gave me an hour to just enjoy being with you all and have a great work out with some awesome, supportive, and upbeat individuals and make my day great again! Thank you all SO much -
I know group fit may seem like you learning some stuff from instructors, but trust me- YOU do as much for US, and MORE, than we do for you! I love you guys so much and hope you have a fabulous week! :)

Sharing a sweaty selfie from our awesome class last night, photocreds to these lovely ladies! It's wonderful when you find yourself in an environment making connections and creating long-lasting friendships with people who share the same passions as you - that's one of my favorite things about Group Fitness!
So, no announcements, but i just wanted to thank ALL of YOU for being SO awesome and for bringing yourselves, as you are, to class. You're awesome - and you're what makes a class as beautiful and kick-ass as it is. Thank you for sharing your beautiful selves with me. :)

Saw this and laughed too much, so had to share with you!
Whether you're in the gym going solo or at a group fit class, I know it's second nature to compare yourself to everyone around you.
But did you ever think how everyone is doing the same thing? Instead of competing with others, try to focus on yourself- be mindful of what your body is doing and all the great things you are letting it do.
Your biggest critique is yourself- but so is your greatest motivation. ❤️
