Compares and contrasts the policies, structures, purposes, and contents of mass media systems within the three "worlds" of development. This course examines issues of access and diversity, the impact of new technologies and pressure for privatization on centralized public service systems. It also examines the amount and nature of the flow of news and images around the world and the implications of the flow for global conflict or cooperation.

Fitchburg State College needs an adjunct to cover one section of Human Communication, which is a required interpersonal course for junior and senior undergraduates. The course will meet on Tuesday and Thursday from 2:00 - 3:15. There is a possibility of another course being offered in the same day. The compensation is set by the union agreement and is in the $3500 range. There is also the possibility for spring courses. Request for Help/ Participants! I am looking for participants who have been/currently are in a graduate program in Communication Studies: I am currently working on a study at Ball State University in Muncie, IN to learn how Communication Studies graduate programs orient and socialize graduate students to graduate school, their academic programs, and to academe. You must be at least 18-years-old and a current graduate student taking main campus courses to complete this survey. From this study, researchers will develop a better understanding of communication graduate school recruitment, socialization and training practices that are working for students. For the participants, they will have the opportunity to reflect on their own graduate school process and aid in developing disciplinary knowledge. All survey responses that the researcher team receives will be anonymous and stored on a secure server. If you take part in this study, you may stop at any time without penalty.
