The SASA E-Board had an amazing time learning about mental health with @mannmukti and @saheliboston. Here are some of the posters from the group activities. There were a variety of opinions, answers and feelings written on the post-it stamps by students.
We gained a lot from the interactive presentations and activities. We received a tremendous amount of positive feedback, so we hope to make this an annual event! 🧠🥰

Hello everyone!
We hope everyone is having a restful and lovely break. School is starting up again soon which means we have some updates for y’all on what SASA is planning for this semester.
~SASA GENERAL BODY MEETING~
First, we will be having our Spring General Body meeting on January 30th from 7-9 pm in the Campus center Room. 804-08. Our organization is comprised of students of South Asian descent as well as those who wish to acquire a better understanding of the culture. Be sure to come to get to know more about SASA and bring your friends!
~SASA& PSO FORMAL~
Second, SASA and PSO formal is quickly approaching! This is our semi-annual formal event, which will consist of South Asian appetizers, cultural programs and a dance floor! This year formal will be held on Friday, February 16th. Keep in mind this is a long weekend so please plan accordingly! Pre-sale tickets will be $8 and at the door will be $10. Dress code is formal attire, dress to impress! (Dresses, skirts, shirt and tie). The pre-sale ticket link will be coming out shortly.
We are also looking for fun and energetic emcees for this event. If you and a partner are interested, please contact Asha at [email protected] for more details.
~SASA NIGHT~
Third, as a reminder our biggest event, SASA night, will also be coming up soon on March 30th. This is our annual cultural show, which consists of a traditional Indian dinner, South Asian performances and a dance floor to end off the night! Dress code for this event is a dress to impress South Asian/Desi attire. This is preferred but not mandatory! Winter break may be the only time some of you are home so plan on bringing your favorite South Asian attire from home soon or borrowing from a friend, if you’d like. If you would like to perform on stage at this event, please be sure to fill out the Google form linked below by February 24th.

A big part of SASA night is the Freshmen and Senior Dances!! It is a tradition that every year, the freshman and senior classes get together and perform their own dance at SASA night! This is a great way to get to know your class and bond. For freshman, you can meet new friends and for seniors, this is a great way to get together and end off your senior year. No prior dancing skills are necessary so definitely take part in this! Facebook groups for each class are linked below so definitely join those if you are interested and feel free to reach out to the Freshman and Senior dance reps!
