Coronavirus, anxiety, and the profound failure of rugged individualism
The coronavirus is making us all more anxious and depressed. Here’s what we can do about it.
Volunteer UMass is an organization designed to help students find volunteer opportunities and programs to aid in service around the community.
Volunteer UMass is a clearinghouse for community service and civic engagement programs, initiatives and opportunities currently available on the UMass Amherst campus and in the surrounding Pioneer Valley communities. This initiative is designed to enhance students' learning and experience by providing them access to out-of-class service and civic engagement opportunities, which nurture their development as active and engaged citizens. Volunteer UMass promotes a campus culture of volunteerism and civic engagement, reinforcing our institutional commitment to community engagement and service. This initiative aims to foster collaborative partnerships between our campus and community partners by connecting students, faculty and staff to service and civic engagement opportunities in the Pioneer Valley.

What's on November 12th? Our next home game!! What happens before the game? TAILGATE!! Well, did you realize the homecoming football game tailgate produced a disgusting amount of waste (22,000 pounds of it)! At the end of the tailgate, all of the cans and bottles that were left on the ground were scooped up and sent out with the trash, instead of being recycled. On November 12th, we have a chance to make a change by participating in the EPA Game Day Challenge, to significantly reduce the waste at the next home football tailgate. Each volunteer will receive a free game ticket, t-shirt, and a $10 food voucher which can be used outside or inside of the stadium. Sign up to volunteer here: http://umass.us3.list-manage.com/track/click?u=18ffdf391514dc7c2395a2ac7&id=8076e2cd09&e=1472438907
