Join the Loeb Center Team!

Student interns at the Loeb Center play a fundamental role in supporting and shaping the work we do. They bolster our programs, represent us at on-campus events, share and promote our resources, and advise their peers.

We are looking for students to join a team of approximately 10-15 other Loeb Center interns for the next academic year. Each intern will specialize in a certain focus area but may have the opportunity to work with other Loeb Center staff and interns on collaborative projects across focus areas. The focus areas are: arts & communication industry, consulting industry, employer engagement, finance industry, marketing, and peer career advising.

All interns participate in ongoing training and professional development designed to give them broad exposure to the Loeb Center’s initiatives and to help them improve skills relevant to their work and their own career exploration and planning.

Multiple positions available. Read all the details in Handshake. Applications are due March 9.

“As an #intern for the Issam Fares Institute for Public and International policy, I was able to participate in incredible projects addressing issues of land and housing taxation, utility access, and development in Beirut. Being in Beirut and more specifically the American University of Beirut was in itself a rewarding opportunity to #explore and #learn a lot about a new city and a new country. I am very grateful to those who mentored me this summer and to the friends I made.” - Emilie Flamme ‘20, Major: Architectural Studies and Russian

This past summer I interned on Capitol Hill for a Congressman from upstate New York. As someone interested in #government and #policy work, interning in a Congressional office gave me the opportunity to learn about all the different #careers in Washington and all the career paths you can take to get there. I would definitely recommend this experience to other Amherst students interested in politics and policy. I was fortunate to have received a lot of guidance both before and during the #internship that helped me with the application process and navigating through the world of Capitol Hill, which is why I want to work with the Loeb Center to help mentor Amherst students seeking similar experiences.” - Ben Gilsdorf ‘ 21, Major: Russian and History.
