Anderson has long been known as “The Electric City,” a name rooted in our city’s history and its early embrace of electric power. But for the Brothers of Rho Delta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.®, that name carries an even deeper meaning.

We are The Light of the Electric City. 💡⚡️

For Alpha men, light represents knowledge, enlightenment, leadership, and our responsibility to illuminate the path for those who come behind us. And here in Anderson, that light has been shining through Rho Delta Lambda for generations.

Through Manly Deeds, Scholarship, and Love for All Mankind, we will continue to serve our communities, develop leaders, mentor our young people, strengthen our Brotherhood, and stand as a beacon throughout Anderson County and beyond.

The Electric City has its history.

On Wednesday evening, August 26, 1998, the Rho Delta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. received its charter in Anderson, South Carolina. Today, we proudly celebrate 28 years of Rho Delta Lambda! 🖤💛

For 28 years, our chapter has remained committed to the principles upon which Alpha Phi Alpha was founded: Manly Deeds, Scholarship, and Love for All Mankind. From the brothers who laid the foundation to those carrying the torch today, we honor the legacy, sacrifice, brotherhood, and service that have made Rho Delta Lambda what it is.

Our charter is more than a date in history—it represents a commitment to serve our communities, develop leaders, uplift our youth, promote scholarship, and leave a lasting impact. As we celebrate this milestone, we salute our charter members, past presidents, past and present brothers, and everyone who has contributed to the growth and success of Rho Delta Lambda.

28 years strong. The legacy continues. The work continues.
