- Instructional Specialist II, ABE (Adult Basic Education)

What you’ll do:
- Teach and support adult learners in Adult Basic Ed or English as a Second Language
- Evaluate students' progress and assess learning outcomes
- Develop instructional materials tailored to adult learners
- May require evening teaching hours

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field

Advance Your Career While Changing Lives with NEW ADE-Approved Mild/Moderate Disabilities Certification Pathways at CAC!

Central Arizona College offers coursework to meet part of the requirements for a mild to moderate special education endorsement on a valid Arizona teacher certificate for teachers with three years of teaching experience.

The requirements for the provisional special education endorsement (PreK-12 Disabilities) are:
• A valid Arizona Standard Professional Early Childhood, Elementary, Middle Grades, Secondary, or Special Education teaching certificate; and
•Verification of three years of full-time teaching experience in preschool through grade twelve; and
•Six semester hours of specified special education courses; and
•Verification of 15 clock hours of special education practicum, which may be embedded in the six semester hours of courses.

Courses are offered in a synchronous online format with weekly class sessions. After completion of two courses (ESE344 & ESE349) candidates are eligible to obtain a Provisional Mild/Moderate PreK-12 Disabilities Endorsement. Additional courses are offered at Central Arizona College to obtain full endorsement.

For Summer 2026, Central Arizona College is offering FREE MATH BOOT CAMPS open to anyone seeking to improve math skills.

Each math boot camp is four days long, Monday through Thursday, and span six hours with a lunch break in the middle.

Math boot camps are a great way to get to know math faculty, meet other students, and familiarize yourself with college tools and resources.
