Managing Sick Days | Living with Diabetes | Diabetes | CDC

From the CDC:

"Adults of any age who have type 1 or type 2 diabetes are more likely to get severely ill as a result of COVID-19. It’s important that everyone get a COVID-19 vaccination as soon as it’s available to them, but it’s especially important for people with diabetes to get the vaccination. COVID-19 vaccination will help keep you from getting seriously ill if you get COVID-19."

In addition to vaccination, individuals living with Diabetes should:

- Continue taking diabetes pills and insulin as usual.
- Test blood sugar and keep track of the results, as directed by a healthcare provider.
- Make sure that they have at least a 30-day supply of diabetes medicines, including insulin.
- Follow healthcare provider’s instructions if feeling ill as well as the sick day tips for people with diabetes.

Learn how to manage diabetes to live longer and with a better quality of life than ever before
