UNC Asheville Highsmith Art & Intercultural Gallery

UNC Asheville Highsmith Art & Intercultural Gallery The Gallery is a collaboration between Multicultural Student Programs, the Center for Diversity Education, and Cultural Events & Special Academic Programs.

The Highsmith Gallery is a place where students, staff, and the community can gather to view and discuss art. The Gallery is utilized by the university as a space where BA and BFA students can showcase their portfolios, as well as a place where local and visiting artists are invited to show their work, share their talents, and spread knowledge.

Interested in participatory exhibits? Join us for a meeting in the gallery next Thursday, April 25 at 12:30 to help develop an interactive exhibit that will be installed in the gallery this September!


UNCA students and faculty! Come to an informal studio visit with artist Gabriel Shaffer this Thursday, August 30th! We will be meeting in the Owen parking lot at 7:45pm and caravaning to his studio space from there.


"Our Voices, Our Stories" came down last weekend - the New Media Exhibition will open tomorrow!


"Our Voices, Our Stories" opens today! The opening reception is tonight, 7-9 pm. If you're still around campus, check it out!


This is the last week the the Art Front's exhibition "Vantage Point" will be up, so be sure to check it out!


Come listen to Jerome Witkin's lecture on Friday at 5:00pm in Lipinsky! It will be a great learning experience!

The Black Mountain College Museum & Art Center show is now down. What did some of you have to say about the exhibit?

“My art education students learned a LOT from the exhibit! It was great for teaching field trip and gallery activities."

The Black Mountain College Museum & Art Center's exhibition is coming down on the 8th and Erin Canady's BFA show is opening on the 11th - come see Black Mountain's Permanent Collection before it comes down, and make sure to make it to Canady's reception!
We'll being utilizting a new project for the gallery starting with Canady's exhibit! Make sure to stop by it and participate!
