Hi all, some of y’all may have tuned into to Thursday night’s town hall facilitated by Jamarl D. Clark that lifted up the voices of Black Alumni at ASU as they discussed their experiences with racism at ASU. Well, if you’re a white person who is anti-racist (or just wants to do something and doesn’t know where to start) you’re invited to join this group. https://www.facebook.com/groups/2864415950353495/?ref=share
Big thanks to Amy White (class of 2004 and 2015) for making mask in her spare time, to keep us safe 😷 #AppBacksU
My APP family. My Bowie girls. We met 20 years ago and our still there for each other to this day. I miss seeing them in person, so Zoom meetings will have to do. Looking forward to when we can all be together 💛 #AppBacksU #APPFamily
Summer Internship with Explore Asheville! Know of Hospitality & Tourism Majors or PR/Marketing/Communications?? JOB TITLE: Summer Intern - Explore Asheville Convention & Visitors Bureau REPORTS TO: Vice-President of Administration PAY STATUS: Part-Time Hourly without Benefits. Hours, up to 29 per week, can be negotiated. ABOUT US: The staff of Explore Asheville Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) are proud of our work to attract visitors to Buncombe County and welcome them to experience the beauty, vibrancy and unique spirit of this special place that we all enjoy as visitors and residents alike. When the Buncombe County Tourism Development Authority was created over 35 years ago, it was a bold idea to propose an Occupancy Tax that singled out one group of businesses. And, it was a big responsibility to take on the job of overseeing that revenue to make sure it would be invested wisely. Over three decades of focused investment in destination promotion has created a vibrant tourism economy that generates $3.1 billion of economic activity in Buncombe County. 2017 ushered in a new era with the creation of the CVB, an independent non-profit organization representing more than 1,200 local tourism businesses. The CVB relocated to new office space with the Asheville Independent Restaurant Association, the Asheville Buncombe Regional Sports Commission and the Asheville Symphony, together creating a new hub for tourism. The success of the tourism sector has been a big part of the economic vitality of Asheville, fostering new businesses of all kinds — including many new hotels that generate additional customers, jobs and millions of dollars in property and sales taxes. We are proud of the progress that has been made and look forward to the work necessary to overcome future challenges. As an intern, you will be part of an extremely professional and skilled CVB team and their tireless efforts to promote and sustain the authenticity of our very special destination.
Greetings Asheville alums, I am looking for restaurants/event space in the area owned or managed by ASU alums that we can hold a potential event at. TIA
Viewing party this weekend???
Hello Asheville Alumni! App Athletics 2018 Asheville Spring Tour is right around the corner! We had to cap the numbers for Lenoir due to the huge response! Please register and let's blow Lenoir out of the water! Call our office at 8282623108 if you have questions. See you May 23rd at Packs Tavern 11:30 AM!
I have one extra ticket for the WCU vs. App basketball game tonight. It is the early bird price of $5; let me know if you are interested. I will call will call and have it changed to your name. Thanks!
Greetings Alums! This weekend I stayed at Harmony Hostel in Banner Elk, it is a clean and quaint little place that resembles a B&B more than a hostel. Each bed has their own little walled off space, there is a large kitchen and living room area upstairs and it is very quiet! She has heaters for ski equipment and an outdoor garden area. Perfect for the single traveler headed up to the High Country at only $45/night.
Anyone traveling up to Boone this weekend from AVL? Would love to ride with someone and share gas!
I'm not going to be able to use my homecoming tickets or parking pass. East side, section 110, row P. Parking is in Rivers Street Deck. Face value
