From the 1869 Grand Lodge of Ohio Proceedings:

On the 15th of November last, I laid the corner-stone of the
State Lunatic Asylum at Athens, in accordance with ancient
Masonic usage. The day was propitious, and large numbers of the craft from Athens and the neighboring towns were present. A very imposing procession was formed, and the ceremony was witnessed by thousands of the citizens of that section. An oration was delivered by Past Grand Master W. B. Thrall, which was listened to with profound attention by the-immense throng. The courteous and fraternal attentions extended to me on that occasion, by the brethren of Athens, will form one of the most pleasurable memories of my Masonic experience.

Please keep WB Robertson in your thoughts and prayers this Christmas.

One of our friends could use your thoughts and prayers. I have worked with Odie for as long as I can remember working for Logan PD. He is our Fire Chief now and he was hurt on a call this morning. (Gadrim)

We hope you get better friend (Logan Fire Chief) Brian K Robertson (Odie)

From His wife Angie:

Brian asked me to post an update on him to hopefully make it easier to inform everyone of what we know so far.
Brian was on a fire run earlier this morning and a tree fell on him. He has a fractured skull, brain bleed, right orbital bone crushed, and left broken wrist.
He has been talking some so that’s a great sign.
They just brought him back from CT and did more X-rays also. We are waiting on those results to find out if he needs surgery and to see if his shoulders and leg is ok.
Please say lots of prayers for him and our family and pray he gets back to what he loves soon.
Thanks to all of the amazing first responders that have been our family for years and checking on him. — with Brian K Robertson.

A reminder of the District Picnic today, 7/29 at the park in beautiful downtown Amesville. We will gather at 5pm, with dinner served at 6pm. Please bring a covered dish to pass. District President Brad Maxwell has asked us to clarify that the covered dish should contain food. Later this evening, a family friendly movie will be shown in the park sponsored by a local business. Please bring family, friends, and little ones along to enjoy the community of Freemasonry.

Michael Wootton, KYCH from Paramuthia #25, Athens Chapter #39, Council #15, and Commandery #15 is a artist in his spare time. In our discussions about our Lodge Experience, Mike offered to create these lecture paintings that now hang proudly in the Lodge Room. He debuted the last one last night at Paramuthia's Stated Meeting in front of 6 of our ODC candidates, back for their first meeting. Next time you are in the Lodge Room, take a look, they really are quite something.

The Brethren of Paramuthia #25 cordially invites all Masons, their extended family and friends to our annual Christmas party. Festivities begin at 6:00pm on Friday December 16th with a buffet style lite dinner and the arrival of Santa at 7:00pm.
Please RSVP by Thursday evening and let us know the age of the boys and girls that are coming so Santa is sure to have a gift. I'm sure he will have a few extra, but some help from his elves couldn't hurt.
If you would like to bring a covered dish and or desert to share, that will be welcomed as well. Please bring your children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews and join us for the fun that is the holiday season.
Messages may also be left on the lodge phone @ 740-593-3640.

Hello Masonic bros in Athens area. Athens is my hometown grad AHS in 1968 OU a couple years. Does anyone remember Paul Brown ..that ran Sunnyvale Nursery and was a Mason back then ? I knew his son Robert , remember him being in demoley ....I had no idea what that or Masonry was all about. Anyhow Paul was really like a role model to me in several ways, I worked for him and respected him. His influence on me was a big factor in me joining the masons here in Piqua ....Warren # 24 ........I knew Wendell Rose too , slightly....great to see he is a PM just last May. So when I did a FB search for "masonic webmaster" the Athens lodge comes up ..I want to get down and see you guys....and will ....... LOVE your building !
Masonic Funeral Service for Brother Richard (Dick) Bobo of Paramuthia Lodge #25 will be held Thursday, April 19, 8 PM at Jagers Funeral Home.
According to RWB Bob Hadfield, tonight's inspection is postponed to a later date due to district policy regarding the current Level 2 snow emergencies in Athens and Washington Counties. Posted to 17th District page 2 hours ago.
Last night, Girl Scout Troop 51001 held a meeting at the Lodge. Approximately 30 girls worked with the owner of a local restaurant to make ravioli from scratch, set tables, and serve dinner to approximately 45 guests. Many of the guests said that they had lived in Athens for years and had never been inside the building. Many asked about Masonry and Order of Eastern Star and were impressed and excited about what they heard. The troop leaders were so grateful for our hospitality and are already talking about ways that we can work together in the future, like a lock-in or a service project. As a parent of one of the Girl Scouts and a proud member of Athens Masonic Bodies, I thank you all for the hospitality and support. At one point, the girls were singing camp songs together in the kitchen and afterwards, Eliza ran over to me and said how much she loved having her troop in 'her Lodge.' Her Lodge. Thank you very, very much. Chad
