Diversity Studies Certificate Program

Ohio University students wishing to obtain a Diversity Studies Certificate must complete a minimum of 6 courses (min. 18 semester credit hours) throughout their undergraduate studies. Required/Core Courses:

Students will be required to take the following 2 courses:
EDCS 1011 (3 credit hours)-- Intro to Diversity Studies
EDCS 4001 (3 credit hours)-- Democracy & Diversity

Additional Courses:

Students will be required to select an additional 4 courses from any department offering an approved DSC course as follows:

Complete three courses from across three of the different diversity domain categories. Complete one course from any of the diversity domain categories. Note: Of these five courses, only 1 course may be from the student’s major department so that students gain a multiplicity of perspectives. Diversity Domains are as follows:
a. Race/Ethnicity
b. Social Class
c. Gender
d. Sexual Orientation
e. Disability

CNN is carrying the first ever LGBTQ focused Town Hall with the top democratic presidential candidates. Each candidate has their own 1/2 hour to talk about their positions related to LGBTQ issues and be questioned. Starts at 7:30 pm and goes until midnight, Eastern Time.
