To our Flamingo Family and Surrounding Community:
On June 19th, Ohio University's President M. Duane Nellis sent an email announcement regarding the university's precautions for the fall semester and corona virus. This email noted that larger classrooms will be used for safe distancing, some classes will be held online, mask wearing is encouraged, and the university will switch to online classes after November 20th.
The Executive Board of the Lost Flamingo Theatre Company is taking these precautions very seriously and is identifying exactly how it will effect our company this coming semester. We have come to the decision that we will not be able to hold our annual production of Rocky Horror Picture Show this fall. Because the content of the show is especially physical and our production never fails to attract hundreds of audience members, we decided there would be no safe way to maintain distances and public health. We are brainstorming ideas to keep this tradition alive, which may include performances in the spring.
Because of the shortened in-person semester, our company is looking for alternative dates at Baker University Center Theatre, or alternative locations prior to November 20th for our productions of Clue, The Laramie Project, and Radium Girls. We will let our community know once we are able to find spaces and times for these shows.
In regard to the semester in it's entirety, the Executive Board is prioritizing the health and safety of our flamingos. We plan to schedule larger spaces for our weekly meetings and are considering broadcasting meetings for OU students to watch from home. During rehearsals, all Flamingos (excluding actors) will be required to wear masks. Company members are expected to practice safety and social distancing outside of rehearsals so they don't put fellow cast members at risk.
The Lost Flamingo Theatre Company appreciates the our community and strives to keep it safe. Thank you for the support. We can't wait to see you back in August!
HAPPY NATIONAL PINK FLAMINGO DAY! 🦩 Check out how much our company members love to be Flamingos!

In an alternate universe, A Doll’s House Part 2 closes this afternoon. Thank you to this talented & hardworking cast & crew for all the love you put into this show. (Then...)
🌟Happy Spotlight Sunday Everyone! 🌟 LFC is so excited to show you around our community. This week, we’d love to Spotlight Riley Perone, a Senior who’s been a part of 6 shows with LFC and served on the Exec Board for three years.
LFC has meant many different things to me over the seven and a half semesters I’ve been a part of the company. My first semester I was cast in Rosencrantz and Guildernstern Are Dead. LFC then became this magical place where I could find friendship and belonging. My sophomore year, I served as the Fundraising Chair and PR Director for about a half a semester, and PR Director alone for the rest of sophomore year and all of junior year. Being an exec board member for three years has allowed me to grow as a leader and as a person. Every success the company has feels amplified, and every heartache even more painful.
I don’t think I will ever understand why theatre feels the way it does and why, no matter in what space and no matter at what scale, it creates a community. Perhaps the spirit of Dionysus or an unseen magic really does show its presence there. Whatever it is, it is powerful. Theatre unites and inspires. Being a part of the only student-run theatre company has shaped me and my future, I’m sure of it.
I grieve the second half of my final semester. And though I may never be an active member of LFC again, the company is simply in intermission. There are several more acts to come, full of love, mischief, and adventure.
Thank you flamingos.

🌟Happy Spotlight Sunday Everyone! 🌟 LFC is so excited to show you around our community. This week, we’d love to Spotlight Destery Gunther, a freshman who’s been a part of 2 shows with LFC.
Being a part of the LFC has been the best thing I have ever done. Before LFC I was struggling to find a place for myself, struggling to find friends, and just struggling with self confidence. I have always loved theater and performing but I never felt confident in the work I would do, especially when it came to my acting. Being a part of this student run club is the first time I have truly felt so much positivity in my life. I finally figured out who I was and what I wanted. While I'm saddened about the cancellation of the 2020 spring semester, I am extremely fortunate that I still have three more years to give back to the company that has done so much for me already.
Thank you for understanding 💜 Everyone stay safe and reach out to your Flamingo Family if you need anything.
Thank you to everyone for being patient and supportive of LFC! We will are still excited and preparing for 3 fantastic shows at the end of the semester!
