Nothing is more frustrating than reading about an event after the fact. Last night KSU hosted NY Times Pulitzer prize journalist, Nicholas Kristof. He is not only a great writer, but also an eloquent speaker. Take advantage of these events (often at no charge) and broaden your horizons! Set up a Google alert for KSU lectures/events to avoid missing future opportunities. http://www.halftheskymovement.org

Buford, GA school system is leasing iPads from Apple for classroom use at a cost of $165,000/year with the option of purchasing the iPads at year's end for one dollar per tablet. The tablets will not replace textbooks, often out of date by the time of delivery.

We love our TRAC! TRAC, located in the Bagwell College of Education, started with materials to fill only three tiny bookcases, according to Director, Diana Poore - and our friend :). This fall TRAC received hundreds more of books, puppets and other materials to fill many, many shelves as a memorial donation from Mrs. Arleen Taffel. Her family also established a scholarship for BCOE students.

How much time do you spend on Facebook? And how much info have you accumulated? FB has now made it possible to download all your information. Go to Account Settings, click on "download your information." FB will email you when they have it all assembled. Your profile is ported to your desktop in a folder. Nice!
