Bristol Community College and Bridgewater State University in Attleboro are working with the Attleboro Farmers Market to host a 4-week indoor market this spring.
“This is a very exciting community partnership” said longtime Farmers Market manager Heather Porreca. “We have been considering an indoor market and partnering with Bristol and Bridgewater just makes sense given their building set up and its location.”
The market will run during its normal outdoor hours of 9 AM-1 PM starting on Saturday, May 4. The indoor market will conclude on May 25 and the outdoor market will begin its summer season at O’Connell Field between Attleboro High School and Capron Park starting on June 15.
The indoor market will include most of the popular components of the outdoor market including food trucks, live musical performances, and great food and artisan vendors. If successful, the indoor market would run for a longer season next winter at the Bristol/Bridgewater location in Attleboro.
“We cannot wait for this to get started” said Bristol’s Attleboro Campus Dean, Rodney Clark. Bridgewater’s Director of the Attleboro campus, Cathleen DeSimone agreed. “Hopefully this is just the start of a long and fruitful collaboration.”
The Bristol/Bridgewater campus is located at 11 Field Rd. off of Forest Street in Attleboro. Both institutions will also have staff available to give information about their academic program offerings for any interested potential students.
