Earlier this summer, one of our sisters, Maddy P., had the opportunity to serve as a camp counselor at Camp JRA. As someone who grew up with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis, this experience held a special place in her heart, allowing her to encourage and inspire children facing similar challenges. We are so proud of Maddy for representing Alpha Omicron Pi with compassion, resilience, and service.❀️🌹

Words from Maddy-

Being a camp counselor at Camp JRA was an experience I will never forget. Growing up with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis, I understand many of the challenges these campers face, which made this week especially meaningful. It was an honor to encourage them, celebrate their victories, and remind them that they are capable of so much more than their diagnosis.

Watching their confidence grow throughout the week inspired me just as much as I hope I inspired them. Camp not only allowed me to be a role model for kids living with juvenile arthritis, but it also strengthened my own confidence and reminded me how powerful it is to turn your own experiences into hope for someone else.

This experience reminded me why Alpha Omicron Pi's commitment to the arthritis community means so much to me, and I am incredibly grateful to have been part of a week filled with resilience, new friendships, and unforgettable memories.

This July, our AOII chapter is proud to recognize Juvenile Arthritis Awareness Month πŸ’™πŸ’›
As Alpha Omicron Pi's international philanthropy partner, the Arthritis Foundation holds a special place in our hearts. Throughout the month, we're raising awareness for the nearly 300,000 children in the United States living with juvenile arthritis and other childhood rheumatic diseases. Together, we support research, advocacy, and programs that help children and families thrive while working toward better treatments and one day, a cure. Today at family summit AOII commited over 1 million dollars to the Arthritis Foundation for this year at family summit, a large portion of that donation goes to jia related funds. We're honored to stand alongside the Arthritis Foundation and everyone affected by juvenile arthritis. Join us this month in learning more, spreading awareness, and supporting those living with this invisible illness.
