MCG Pediatric Residency Program

MCG Pediatric Residency Program Official page of the MCG Pediatric Residency Program housed at the Children's Hospital of Georgia. Welcome to the official page for the MCG Pediatric Residency Program.
(4)

Our program is dedicated to preparing residents for the practice of Pediatrics in the 21st Century. The Children's Hospital of Georgia is a home base for our residents' education and work experiences, complete with a spacious, technologically advanced conference room for morning report and noon conferences, a private library, as well as a resident lounge and clustered private call rooms. To complement our outstanding physical facilities, we have a faculty that is truly committed to education and contribute significant proportions of its time to that effort. Our commitment to education is evidenced by Pediatrics being chosen as the Outstanding Clinical Teaching Department by the graduating senior class for ten of the past fourteen years. Inappropriate, offensive, injurious and illegal content may be removed by GRU employees identified as account administrators or at the direction of Communications and Marketing Staff.

The Pediatric Residency Co****le Tournament came to a close last night with an epic best 2 out of 3 match between Drs. Hodges and Smith and the CHOG Champions (Drs. McLeod and Noel).

It was even at two matches each but Drs. Hodges and Smith were our winners after a nail biting final match with a score of 21-20!

Congrats to Dr. Hodges and Dr. Smith🎉

Like all good sporting events there was even a streaker👟

Found some great pics so decided it was time for a #tourtuesday!

Drs. Bingham and Sambangi are showing off some of CHOG’s public spaces. The hospital was designed with input from kids and their families so you’ll find dinosaurs 🦕 and technology 💻everywhere you look.

Our main set of stairs was even painted with an underwater theme 🐠by a group of students from a local school!

❤️Why MCG Pediatrics: I was so impressed on my interview day by the family feel of the program here - everyone truly likes each other! And our faculty are the best! They love to teach and interact with the residents. I have found the best mentors through this program. I am sad to leave!

🍽Favorite Augusta Restaurant: So difficult to choose because there are so many good ones -  I love Curry Hut, Takosushi, and Los Cabos the most currently.

🛶Favorite thing to do in Augusta: kayak, walk the canal, and enjoy brunch/lunch/dinner out with my colleagues (again, so many good places!)

🥨Fun fact: My parents own a soft pretzel store!
