Husson University students have access to free professional clothing thanks to the generosity of Husson alumni and the greater Bangor community.

The Professional Clothing Closet offers a variety of attire, including full suits, blazers, blouses, dress shirts, skirts and dress pants, to help students prepare for professional events, including this Wednesday’s Fall Career Fair. Interested students should contact Husson University Career Services (Peabody 214) to schedule an appointment to visit the closet.

This initiative began in 2022, thanks in large part to College of Business Instructor Lisa Sturgeon, and continues through the support of the Husson community. All clothing has been dry cleaned thanks to a gift from Enterprise Mobility and a generous discount from Gold Star Cleaners. Thank you to everyone who has helped make this resource available to Husson students!

You never know where a conversation might lead!

When David Allen ’18 attended Husson’s Legal Studies Career Fair as a student, he connected with the Lewiston Police Department, an employer he hadn’t previously considered. Today, he’s a detective with the department and returned to this week’s fair to connect with students from the other side of the booth.

David’s experience is a great example of how these events help students explore opportunities, build connections and discover career paths they may not have previously considered.

The Audio Engineering Society is bringing the Overdrive concert to the Gracie Theatre this weekend! 🎸

Produced by students in Husson’s New England School of Communications (NESCom), the show gives students hands-on experience in every aspect of a live concert, from audio and video production to marketing and promotion.

Representatives from more than 70 local, state and federal organizations visited Husson University today for the 17th Annual Legal Studies Career Fair. Around 30% of the participating organizations included a Husson graduate, highlighting the connections alumni maintain across the industry.

Events like this provide students valuable opportunities to network with employers, explore career paths and learn about current job openings.

Last week, students interested in ecology conducted a lab at the Bangor City Forest Orono Bog Boardwalk. During their visit, they practiced collecting, analyzing and interpreting data on biological diversity, using the plant communities at the bog as a model.

Experiences like these give students hands-on opportunities to explore Maine’s diverse ecosystems, apply what they learn in the classroom and build skills they can use in future careers in wildlife biology and conservation.
