Meet Timothy, a Smith-Hutson Scholar and Criminal Justice major, and discover how the program has helped him focus on his education, campus involvement, and future career goals.

Since 2012, Lamar University and the Smith-Hutson Foundation have partnered to create meaningful opportunities for Texas students. The Smith-Hutson Scholarship is a need-based award for incoming freshmen and transfer students that can cover up to 90% of tuition, fees, housing, and meal plans.

In addition to financial support, scholars benefit from a professionalism course, peer mentorship, social and volunteer events, and more. Lamar University Smith-Hutson Scholars
