We have three students that were chosen to participate in the Ripple Effect Kindness Challenge for Mrs. Kari Babson, last years Teacher of the Year recipient. These three chose to host a surprise celebration for teachers and staff, uplifting their spirits!! They had balloons, snacks, decorations, and planned a trivia game for all of us to play. We could not be more grateful to have these kind hearted Firebirds soaring through our halls!! We want to thank Grace Sanchez, McKinzie Voyles, and Maddi Stepka for all their effort they put forth to support their teachers and school!!! Brunswick County Schools

Our students brought history to life in a powerful way! Through trifold presentations, they connected The Book Thief a novel by Markus Zusak to real events of the Holocaust. Blending literature, research, and critical thinking. They then presented their work to a panel of teachers, administrators, and even a member of our Board of Education. Thank you Catherine Cooke for taking the time to see what our students can put forth. We’re incredibly proud of the depth, courage, and insight they demonstrated in tackling such an important topic.

Last week was National Assistant Principal Week. We didn't forget about it, we just don't want to share our awesome assistant principal Anthony Tantillo! He absolutely deserves the recognition though. Mr. Tantillo is ALL about the students here at Brunswick Early College High School. Mr. Tantillo was born to be a Firebird and he is the definition of the 5 R's: Respect, Rigor, Relationship, Responsibility, and Relevance. We are very thankful to have him.
