Tiger Buddies is a completely student-run organization supported by the University of Missouri. Founded Spring 2013, the program has since grown to serve over 75 pairings in and around the Columbia community. Our program is rapidly growing and evolving responding to what was clearly a need in the community for a program of this kind. The purpose of Tiger Buddies is to provide people with disabilit
ies from the Columbia community the opportunity to form one-on-one friendships with Mizzou college students in hopes of encouraging confidence and personal growth within each of our buddies and volunteers. Tiger Buddies works to pair buddies from the community and University volunteers who express similar interests in hopes of forming genuine and lasting relationships. Pairings meet once a week to spend time together sharing hobbies or finding new ones. In the past, our buddies and volunteers have enjoyed attending Mizzou sporting events, community events, or simply grabbing dinner together. About once and month, Tiger Buddies will host program wide social gatherings, typically on Mizzou's campus. The events are open to all buddies, volunteers, and anyone wishing to learn more about our program. Social dates, times, and locations will be announced on our website at the start of each semester.
