Eta Xi Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Sisterhood, Scholarship, and Service As you peruse our website, you will find a detailed listing of our community service initiatives for 2010-2011!

Our commitment to service is evident as we: mentor teenage girls through our Rhoer Club, provide monetary and volunteer support for the March of Dimes "March for Babies" Annual Walk-a-thon, donate school supplies as a part of our Annual Operation BigBookBag National Service Project and work with hundreds of teens as a part of our Annual National Youth Symposium. Please add us as your "Favorites" and plan to visit our site regularly for updated programmatic information. Upholding the sorority's motto "Greater Service, Greater Progress" is important to the members of this chapter. We appreciate that you have visited us virtually and we look forward to personally connecting with you in the community.

Eta Xi Sigma Sorors attended the second annual ***Moonlight Mammogram*** event hosted by OSF Healthcare Little Company of Mary Medical Center.

The event provided an engaging evening of education, entertainment, and camaraderie.

Dr. Patrick, a board-certified breast surgeon, delivered an informative presentation on breast cancer and its associated risk factors.

Mammograms were available for attendees, and the event offered valuable insights into breast health and the significance of early detection.

The message conveyed was clear: the best protection against breast cancer lies in early detection.🩷🩷🩷

"Hispanic Heritage Month is important to me because it is an open acknowledgement of the diverse customs, traditions, and culture of people within the Latino/Hispanic community.

It is also important to me because as a darker-skinned woman of Afro-Latino descent, my presence and my voice represent those within the Latino/Hispanic community that are frequently unseen and barely acknowledged and/or validated.

And as everyone knows, representation does indeed matter.

I am proud to be multi-cultural, and I proudly proclaim my Black American and Afro-Cuban bloodline without hesitation.

They are what make me, ME!"
