Having darker skin and being born outside the United States are associated with an increased chance of experiencing this type of discrimination, according to a Pew Research Center survey conducted in March 2021."

This past January, Priscila Coronado (Harvard Law 2023) made history when she was elected the 136th president of the Harvard Law Review by her peers. She became the first Latina to hold the position at the independent student-run journal.

She is the daughter of Mexican immigrants and told Harvard Law Today that her background helped shape her perspective on the law, but cautions that she does not want her achievement to be “morph[ed] into some kind of ‘model minority’ narrative.”
