Today we wanted to highlight Kappa Delta’s philanthropy, Prevent Child Abuse America and Girl Scouts of America🍀💚
Their chapter is locally connected to the Center for Child and Family Health (CCFH), and they host two main events throughout the school year to help raise awareness and help fight child abuse and aid families who are experiencing abuse-related trauma.
In the fall, they host their annual backyard BBQ with food prepared by their chef and live music! In the spring, they host their annual Shamrock ‘n’ Run 5k, a community-centered 5K that brings together students, families, and local organizations to run, host tables, and celebrate together, with benefit nights and a dinner the night before the race for participants to build excitement and support.
Here’s what their Director of Philanthropy has to say about what their philanthropy means to them:
“Our philanthropy is meaningful because it brings our chapter together to support and uplift the community around us. Seeing the gratitude from our local partner connected to Prevent Child Abuse America, the Center for Child and Family Health (CCFH), whether through thank-you calls, visits, or invitations to help with projects, reminds us that our acts of service can make a real impact. We also see this impact through the relationships we build in our community, whether that’s hosting events with Girl Scouts or volunteering our time wherever help is needed (like Habitat for Humanity Builds!). It’s incredibly meaningful to know that our chapter is helping sustain organizations that support families and prevent child abuse, and that together we can make a lasting difference. It motivates us to keep showing up and keep giving back!“
