Its so cold outside...makes me happy to look at summer gardens. I stopped at a plant-lover client's garden this past summer and took this photo. She was thrilled to get rid of her lawn!

This urban retreat was designed to absorb the runoff from rainstorms. The owners can sit in their outdoor room or look down from the house and see the water move through the streambed. in just a year and a half its grown so much.

During a beautiful week in August, we transformed this eroding hill into a beautiful rock garden. The owners long wanted to extend their garden to incude their front entry. New perennials and grasses were installed including Agastache 'Blue Fortune' (Giant Hyssop), Carex 'Blue Zinger' (Sedge) and 'Hakonachloa macra Aureola' (Japanese Forest Grass). Boulders were dropped into place by truck and then relocated by hand.
