The International Order of DeMolay is a premier youth leadership organization founded in 1919 for young men ages 12 to 21, dedicated to instilling character, civic responsibility, and moral values through civic service and brotherhood.
Walt Disney was a pioneering American animator, film producer, and entrepreneur whose legendary vision built an entertainment empire and transformed global pop culture. In March 1920, Disney became the 107th member of the Mother Chapter of DeMolay in Kansas City, Missouri, an experience he frequently credited with helping shape his decision making, work ethic, and personal integrity throughout his career.
He maintained a deep lifelong bond with the organization, eventually receiving the DeMolay Legion of Honor, being inducted into the DeMolay Hall of Fame, and even bestowing DeMolay membership on Mickey Mouse making it the only official organization his famous character ever joined.
